Tooling And Molding Engineer Position

Qualifications:

Six Sigma Green Belt. Experienced in Lean Manufacturing. Kaizen, SMED, 5S, Kanban, Design Of Experiments, Statistical Analysis, Gage R&R, and IQ,OQ, PQ, GMP process validation procedures, ISO 9000 and AS9100 Standards. Experience with aerospace manufacturing processes: CNC machining, grinding, forming, welding, EDM, cleaning, coating, plating, NDT testing, X ray, and assembly. Solid metallurgical skills: aerospace heat treating, annealing, normalizing, carburizing, drawing and tempering, specifying the appropriate alloy and temper for the application. Hands-On experience in production machining / maintenance, machine controls, electronics and programming.

Responsibilities:

-Planned and performed complex engineering assignments to fabricate and machine high temperature alloy components used in the petroleum, energy, and aerospace industries.

-Prepared quotation proposals, manufacturing concept proposals, product and process design reviews, provided technical and hands-on direct shop floor assistance to supervisors.

-Specified and selected appropriate engineering alloys to suit product application.

-Performed engineering and manufacturing evaluations for FADAL, K&T, Mitsubishi, G&L, Hitachi, horizontal and vertical CNC machining centers, and CNC grinders.

- Evaluated and established new fabrication vendor sources as needed to support projects.

-Directed make or buy decisions, and investigated design and process change requests.

Skills:

-Ability to read and interpret all engineering drawings. Proficient in Solidworks 2017 solid model creation and shop drawing generation.

-Hands on experience and knowledge of all manufacturing / fabrication processes. Experienced in single and multi axis machining, grinding, turning, sheet metal bending, braking, and rolling.

-Ability to collaborate with all engineering groups both internal and external on issues concerning feasibility, design, and manufacturability of complex equipment and components.

-Excellent communication skills, participative attitude, team work, can-do attitude. Outstanding computer skills. Self starter who works with minimal supervision.

Feb. 2013 to Present Griswold Controls Manufacturing Engineer

Provide technical support for the design and procurement of offshore plastic injection molds, injection molded parts, forged and investment cast metal parts, in a broad range of engineering materials, for a proprietary line of precision valves. Vendor contact and follow up to assure on time delivery of critical components. Design and procure assembly fixtures and tooling to support the product manufacturing group. Proficient in Solidworks 2017.

Apr. 2010 to Oct. 2012 Glidewell Laboratories Project Manager

Designed articulators and dental orthodontia appliances, to be used companywide and sold industry wide.
