Curricular Project

Project Name : Design and Analysis For Buckling of Hydraulic Cylinder

Organization : Defence Research and Development Organization (DRDO) Dighi, Pune Fluid Power Group (FPG)

Description : The project was based on study of buckling phenomenon in Hydraulic Cylinders as there are many theories on buckling of columns and not on hydraulic cylinders. In this project the study was limited to theoretical FEA and experimental analysis of buckling behavior of hydraulic cylinder. Idealistic loading condition is used for FE Analysis and experimental study.

The present study can be extended to analyze the buckling behavior of hydraulic cylinder, where the boundary and loading condition will be derived for practical/field operating conditions.
