Introducing Mr. Brian Vogl applying for the position of Software Developer / Engineer: As an experienced Software architect and engineer I’ve worked on high visibility projects coordinating closely between management and customers and working with team members to incorporate engineering requirements into marketable working products. As an experienced computer hardware and software R&D professional I have developed many commercial hardware solutions and computer programs now in use. I’ve coded both back and front end of multi user systems for desktops, palmtops and in the cloud, done real time event driven programming on single and multithreaded systems, integrated radio systems to GIS Systems for Mobile Mapping and Command and Control, Inventory, Distribution, Sales and support. I’m an engineering problem solver “fix it” guy capable of adapting to fluid situations. My experiences are broadly based ranging from video, electronics and embedded processor thru robotics engineering into software design and development. H & K Computers Inc. - Nov 1984 to Apr 1988 - KC,MO. - Electronics Design Engineer - Consultant 4-86 to 4-88 Initially computer, calculator, video and electronic customer service, sales and field repair, later design, prototyping, testing, board layout, programming and manufacturing of an embedded processor controlled clock operated switch. Switch utilized an embedded Motorola microprocessor programmed as a clock, and hand-held programmer. Device controls heavy AC loads for the outdoor advertising industry. Featuring a unique relay design that uses a photodiode to detect and adjust power relay timing, a separate liquid crystal display programmer to initialize clock and Sunrise Sunset calculation programs. Developed a 3 pass assembler to process mnemonic 6502 assembly code to binary machine readable form.. Central Valley Electronics - Apr 1980 to Nov 1984 - KC, MO. – Self Employed - Hardware and Software Design Engineer HW/SW design and development of a slow scan video facsimile device that accepts an NTSC video signal digitizes it and sends it to a computer one line at a time via an RS232 serial interface. Harmon Electronics - Before 1980 - Grain Valley, MO. - Design Engineer Did electronic Design of railroad trackside signaling, crossing equipment and related protection devices. Delivered designs to manufacturing and reviewed their construction. The design of relay logic and its conversion to discrete logic lead to an interest in computers and computer programming.
