Mechanical Design Engineer

Project: Responsible of identify the Non-ROHS substance in the product lines and replace with the new Material specification which follows ROHS/REACH Compliance rule. Involve in a drawing change process and make the test qualification plan for the parts. Involve in the cost out projects, Supply chain management.

Project: Involve in different R&D projects of Industrial Circuit breaker, involve in the NPI team to create new Circuit Breaker Trip mechanism system. Design for Manufacturing (DFM) of different parts which goes in MCCB. Maintain and complete Engineering change notices (ECN), Assembly Drawings with Geometric tolerancing and Dimensioning (GD&T), Tolerance analysis of the parts.

Working with the material team to choose the correct plating for the metal parts and design the test qualification plan for the new plating as well as material spec.

Selectivity Test of a Circuit breaker, Coordination test.

Root cause analysis of the failed circuit breaker and determine the cause of failure. Customer support.

Testing process involves the Instron test, Hardness test, Endurance test of the circuit breaker, High current short circuit test, Plating test process: Adhesion test, salt fog test, product level testing, part level testing.

Working on different molding process for the plastic parts for the circuit breaker, Bulk Molding compound, Sheet Molding compound and Thick molding compound of base, cover of the Circuit breaker and other electrical devices.
