Job Description:

Preparing (cutting/drilling) aluminum parts required to build aluminum railings, handrails, stairs, gates, or any custom-designed railings that fit customers’ deck or stairs.

My daily tasks include but not limited to the following:

- Read engineering drawing, blueprints, or sketches, and specifications to determine the quantities, or sizes of materials required for each work order.

- Cut aluminum metal parts, such as posts, pickets and pickets’ channels, glass channels, top rails, stair’s treads and any other parts included in each job according to blueprints, engineering drawing or sketches, or designer instruction.

- Fabricate joints/connection aluminum parts, such as brackets, angles, plates that are required for the assembly of railings in the shop, as well as to install railings, handrails, stairs to the concrete or wood decks or walls in buildings. This includes cutting and drilling workpieces according to the specifications for each job, using squares, rulers, and measuring tapes.

- Gather the parts for each job in cart and pass them on to the welders/railings builders.

- Fabricate large quantity aluminum workpieces that are typically included in mostly and job. This task includes lay out reference points on aluminum metal parts, and construct patterns and templates as guides to cut/drill metal in efficient way.

- Discuss the priorities of work orders with the plant manager to ensure the completion of each job on time.

- Update the plant manager with raw materials availability in the storage for the next work orders to ensure that jobs will be manufactured and delivered to worksite on time.

Other Tasks:

- Train new employees the right techniques to cut/drill aluminum parts, and ensure that they do the work properly and in a safe way.

Receive / inspect raw materials from supplier and assist in stock them in their allocated place within the shop.

- Help installing teams whenever it is required to meet deadlines and commitments with our clients. This helps as well in improving the quality for the next products through adapting new ideas that make installation procedures easier and faster.
