RESPONSIBILITIES & DUTIES

•Driving haulage trucks long distances and across borders with a variety of trailer combinations

•The countries that I have operated in and across the borders include South Africa, Zimbabwe, Democratic Republic of Congo(DRC), Malawi, Botswana and Zambia

•Operating the truck’s safely through the application of my Defensive driving skills in maneuvering vehicle in difficult situations.

•Hooking and unhooking trailer combinations.

•Timeous collection and delivery of freight

•Follow instructions on freight pick-up and delivery procedures.

•Maintaining accurate records and logs

•Responsible for Proper loading and unloading of freight as well as securing of freight

•Refueling the trucks as well as maintaining the trucks in a proper state to minimize breakdowns.

•Vehicle inspections before, during and after trips as well as recording defects so that they can be timeously attended to. Ensure the safe delivery of high risk freight such as copper concentrate, cobalt, Sulphur,chrome ore e.t.c Ensure the proper transportation of hazardous freight Plan routes using GPS system.
