Worked on the operational expansion of an existing Sulfur Recovery Plant Owned by Jupiter / Conoco Philips 66 in Billings Montana.

Created and located 3D models of a Molten Sulfur Day Tank, Catalyst Bed, Acid Gas Regenerator, Sulfur Condenser, Sample Cooler, Molten Sulfur Storage Tank and Pumps.

Mechanical & Structural Piping Designer (contract position)

Worked as Mechanical Piping Designer tasked to retrofit existing and new piping systems along with their support systems such as the assured air, assured water, secondary pool water level systems, etc. to meet the requirements from the Fukushima Assessment “FLEX” Program for the McGuire Nuclear Power Plant.

Responsibilities included field verification walk downs, P&ID’s, Flow Diagrams, Isometrics, BOMs, Plan Modifications, elevations, details etc.

Software used on this project consisted of Microstation V8 and Decartes.

SGT, Crystal River, FL

Sr. Civil / Structural / Piping / Mechanical / Electrical Designer / 3D Modeler (contract position)

Worked with a staff of 35 Engineers of all disciplines as their 3d designer on a project created for the purpose of halting and repairing an on going delamination of the exterior walls of the Reactor building.

Process required the de-tensioning and demolition of the exterior walls while leaving lead lining intact, then to rebuild walls with minimal radioactive leakage. To reach the tension cables embedded in the Reactor building’s walls, knockouts in all the floors of the surrounding buildings were required to be removed and all the existing pipes, cables, raceways, support steel etc. and had to be re-routed in accordance with NRC standards for proper clearance.

Assisted in the engineering of re-routes by building a highly detailed 3d CAD model of the Plant based off of the original CD’s in PDF format. Working from the model, the creation of all the Engineering Changes (EC’s) for the knockout plans and re-routes for the various disciplines were completed. Work was checked against the EC’s and field walk downs and confirmation.

Software used on this project were Microstation V8i and PlantSpace.

Sr. Piping & Structural Designer (contract position)

Worked closely with Engineers to Conduct an “Expansion of Operations” Feasibility Study of an existing Gold Mining Processing Plant.

Created an “as-built” detailed 3D model of the existing Plant of Operations based from original 2d PDF files.

Designed and integrated the new proposed expansion of, piping and support of a Victaulic lined & grooved sludge pipeline and other various piping systems, such as machinery & equipment layout, platforms, instrument locations, raceways etc. three-dimensionally into the site model.

Created Construction documents, piping information for both cost and engineering (stress & support) analysis

Generated Renderings of the proposed site for the client’s approval.

Self-checking and cross-checking of our work was implemented to assure proper and consistent design.

Software used on this project were AutoCAD and CADWorx.

3d Electrical Designer (contract position)

Created 3D electrical designs & as-built models of an underground water treatment plant located in New York City (The Croton Plant Site).

Extraction from these models consisted of the creation of designs containing conduit layouts, cable bundle labeling, conduit load calculations, raceway, rack & steel support systems, equipment verification elevations, sections, BOMs and details of both the I & C systems and the electrical systems.

Project was drafted and designed extensively in 3D using AutoCAD MEP and Navisworks (for QA, review & clash detection).

URENCO / Louisiana Energy Services, (National Enrichment Site) Eunice, NM

3D Modeler / Designer (contract position)

Created the 3D model of a Uranium Enrichment Facility.

Model consisted of all major disciplines incorporated in the facility such as concrete, steel, secondary support steel, transportation systems, HVAC & support, piping & support, cable tray system & support, equipment, instrumentation & control, electrical paneling and sprinkler system & support.

Model was created for the purpose of space management and collision detection for the different combined disciplines.

Responsibilities included identifying clashes between the systems and potential areas of concern within the design, coordinating weekly meetings with engineers and onsite craftsman to discuss and find solutions to any problems and concerns that needed to be addressed, and making progress presentations of the site to the entire staff while working closely with engineers to solve design problems.

Worked “on site” for construction support and conducted field walk downs for design verification of equipment locations and proper configuration.

During “crunch times”, assistance in redline corrections of the CD’s with the CAD engineering department in coordination with QA/QC to track both the history and the progress of the engineering process of the site.

Company designs turn key clean room environments along with the manufacturing of the wall and “walk-able” ceiling panel systems.

Designed and Created Construction Documents of Clean Rooms and ventilation systems for the Pharmaceutical Industry.

Typical production design layout would consist of construction documents for Wall Paneling Systems, Ceilings Systems (walkable if necessary), Hanger Support Systems (Unistrut) and Complete Ventilation Systems with flow calculations and BOMs.

Point files would be downloaded onto the Trimble Complete Stations for the crews to take into the field to layout the necessary points for construction.

Production Scheduler of a large CAD Department for a 17,000 mile National Underground Fiber Optic Network System in bundle form.

Bundled Conduits consisted of 12-3" Conduits.

Project entailed Digitizing Val Maps, Transferring Field and GIS Surveys onto a Real World Digitized National Map.

Packaged Sections were broken down to approx. 25 mi., and released for Permitting and then Construction.

Responsibilities required the distribution of 25 mi. sections to 5 Job Captains, then ramp-up & down the manpower (CAD Operators) as the sections progressed, then re-assign the CAD operators and Captains to the next section and check their work for QA/QC.

Placement of CAD Operators required the assessment and assignment of a department of 42 draftsman according to each individuals drafting strong points and wishes.

During my time as Production Scheduler, man-hours to complete the work were reduced from an average of over 21 man-hours per mile to less than 6.

Software used here consisted of Microstation SE, Iris B & C, Small world, Inroads and Draftworks.

Surveyed, staked and prepared Construction Documents for the replacement and relocation of power distribution lines (both OH and UG).

Organized, Created, trained, and ran the clients CAD department from ground up and converted existing drawings from paper, to electronic CAD files.

Performed Walk-downs of Metropolitan Atlanta Rapid Transit Authority (MARTA) Subway Stations’ Telecommunication System, which I would generate Field Notes of existing plans, elevations, equipment layouts, Schedules and Schematics of these systems.

During down time, created an extensive Detail Library (both 2D and 3D) of equipment.
