AIX Senior Manager System Administrator National Bank of Pakistan.

Core Responsibilities

Responsible for all aspects of AIX System Administration and support for all pSeries servers such as: OS installation and upgrade, OS problem resolution, application of OS fixes, installation of application software, administration of user accounts, system configuration, troubleshooting, system monitoring, system tuning, security updates, hardware maintenance, disk usage maintenance, etc.

Perform troubleshooting, performance tuning and capacity planning, and troubleshooting of issues with minimal down time or no outage during working hours and have backup plans for critical Production Servers.

Preparation of Reporting Servers.

Preparation of SAP Data.

Sys Log, Cric Monitoring, NMON trouble shooting of issue of more than 1500 Branch Servers.

Yearly and half Yearly closing of National bank of Pakistan there was no Down time of any application first time in the history of Pakistan.

Responsibilities:

Provided support to Aix servers version 5.2, 5.3, 6.1, on IBM P-8 and HP-Super Doom Blade center, P590, P595, P550, P690 and p650 servers, LPAR, DLPAR, POWERVM created LPAR did backup and restore of POWERVM also worked on Dual POWERVM project.

Performed system start-up and shutdown, monitored system status, add and deleted user accounts and groups.

Performed file system maintenance relative to mounting and un-mounting, periodic cleanup and troubleshooting any discrepancies in performance of the file systems.

Develop procedures for AIX security and management. Update standard policies according to environment changes and audit results. Develop performance improvement initiatives for AIX system environment. Identify and resolve system issues in a timely manner. Plan and coordinate the installation, testing, and maintenance of AIX systems software and related hardware. Plan and execute AIX projects within approved timelines. Analyses software and hardware environments to determine any system defects. Maintain documentation of AIX hardware and software components and user and operator procedures. Develop data backups and retrieval techniques in case of failure, redundancy, etc. Detect and troubleshoot system operational and functional issues. Perform performance maintenance routines to ensure continuous system availability. Develop and implement disaster recovery procedures to ensure business continuity. Analyses and resolution of hardware, operating system, product, and application incidents. System monitoring.
