JUNE 2013 till date working as a Generation Engineer in SAUDI ELECTRICITY COMPANY SHOAIBA-2 combined cycle power plant.

Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) is the leading integrated electric utility in Saudi Arabia engaged in power generation, (CCPP) with the capacity of 1232 MW which includes Ten No’s of M/s SIEMENS – SGT6-2000E Gas Turbines, Two No’s of SIEMENS-SST6-4000 Steam turbines. Control system Siemens SPPT-T3000&DCS yokogawa.

Details of duties/ nature of work:

As a Generation Engineer involved in the GT Start Up and shutdowns, as per LDC instructions etc.,

Follow instructions of the shift charge engineer. Coordinate with the other operator’s in regard to all activities pertaining to the plant operations.

Monitoring, Isolation and Normalization of GT and its Auxiliaries as per safety norms and regulations to enable the maintenance team for performing the job safely.

Evaluating and monitoring the performance of various power plant and BOP equipments.

Monitor all parameters of the unit enter periodic readings on log sheets. Summarize all activities/ events that took place during shift and enter in the log book.

Be alert and take quick actions to overcome sudden changes on operating status. Sound knowledge in understand the logic of the operations and control logic diagrams.

Inspect the unit and auxiliaries during the shift make sure that all equipment parameters are within limits. Report abnormalities to the shift charge engineer.

Assist the shift charge engineer in the performance of periodic protections tests. Perform equipments changeover according to preset schedules.

Coordinates with shift charge engineer for isolating and lining up the equipments and system before and after maintenance. Raise work requests or defect notifications for faulty equipments in SAP.

Ensure all statutory safety standards followed.

Konaseem gas power ltd is the independent power project (ccpp) with the capacity of 445 MW which include two no’s M/S SIMENS V94.2 Gas turbines one no’s steam turbine

Details of duties/ nature of work:

Organize the plant in such a way that work is carried out to the required standard with minimum risk to men, machine and materials; comply with safety and environmental standards.

Coordinate with all other departments all activities that are related to plant operations during the shift and comply with safety rules and regulations. Have a complete understanding of the permit to work system applied to the plant. Issue and cancel permits to work per authorization. Coordinate activities involving plant chemistry with the Chemist.

Follow preset operational schedules to fulfill the planned availabilty production targets safely and efficiently. Coordinate all activities or changes in plant status with operations manager.

Make quick, on the spot decisions to correct abnormalities or disturbances. Take corrective actions during a state of emergency. Supervise the interlock checks on start ups, protection tests, non routine activities like preservation, acid cleaning etc.

Monitor the overall status of the plant and summarize activities in the log book. Fill daily plant status reports and relay all activities that occurred during his shift.

Prepare incident / accident reports and other reports required by the departments. Keep accurate records and prepare daily and monthly reports. Assist in the training and familiarization of new personnel in the shift. Study and suggest for any modifications which can improve the plant efficiency.

Ensure Environmental Aspect-Impact and Hazard Risk Assessment are carried out, controlled and updated.

Nov.1 2009 TO 09 JUNE 2012 working as a Control Room Engineer in RAS GIRTAS POWER COMPANY QATAR.

Ras Girtas Power Company is the Independent Water and Power Project (IWPP) with the capacity of 2730 MW which includes Eight No’s of M/s MHI – M701F3 Gas Turbines, Four

No’s of MHI-TC2F30 Steam Turbines and 10 Units (MED) of M/s SIDEM Desalination plant with the capacity of 64MIGD.

Details of task involved and experience gained during the above said tenure are as follows.

As a Control Room Engineer involved in the GT Start Up and shutdowns, Load dispatch as per NCC instructions etc.,

Nov.1 2001 TO 28 OCT 2009 Junior Engineer (RELIANCE ENERGY LTD) Samalkot power station (CCPP) 220 MW Samalkot. A.P. INDIA

Details of duties/ nature of work:

Monitoring all the running equipments for vibration and abnormal sound & field parameters for safe operation.

Operating all the plant auxiliaries.

Raising the defects if any.

Ensuring the availability of the equipments and taking the standby equipment in to service as per the changeover schedule.

Supporting in making the daily plant reports by collecting the field data as well as energy meter readings.

Isolating the equipments electrical as well as mechanical as per the requirement of the applied permit to work.

Operation of the water treatment plant.

Handling the plant emergencies like the chlorine, gas and fuel oil leakages and isolate the defective system.

Operation of the fuel oil (naphtha & HSD) centrifuges and the lube oil separators.

Taking the dip readings of the fuel oil tanks for fuel oil calculation purpose.

Assist the control room engineer for quick normalization of the plant after the tripping.

220 KV switchyard – double bus with transfer bus including the ALSTOM’s gang operated SF6 circuit breakers, ABB’s pole operated SF6 gas circuit breakers, isolators and earth switches

BHEL transformers –GTG transformers(210 MVA),2 station transformers (16MVA) & STG transformers (110MVA)

High pressure boiler feed pumps- SULZER make, 276 cum/hr, 1280KW.

Low pressure feed pumps – SULZER make 68 cum/hr 75 KW.

Condensate system with Condensate extraction pumps- SULZER make 344 cum/hr, 275 KW, gland steam condenser and the LP heaters.

Circulating water pumps – Mather & plant make 630KW.
