Led the transformation of the Authority to follow contemporary best practices. Served as unpaid Executive Director during staff transition. Developed a public/private partnership to renovate Liberty Gardens, a 180 unit family apartment complex in the City of Rome. The project is estimated to cost around 32 million dollars and is being done in 3 phases. Led the RHA in securing this money through government tax credits and other funding sources within the NY State Housing Community Redevelopment agency.
Served as the Detective Division Commander for the City of Rome Police Department. Was responsible for all felony complaints received by the Rome PD. Had four (4) detectives and two (2) investigators assigned to me. Prepared and administered budgets for the division. Served as a detective for the Rome PD. Was assigned felony cases to investigate. Investigated felonies from the inception to the conclusion.
Served as Special Investigations Unit Commander. Was responsible for all narcotics investigations in the City of Rome. Had two (2) investigators assigned to me. Was responsible for seizing, maintaining inventory of and destruction of narcotics. Prepared and administered budgets for the unit, including researching and purchasing equipment.
Served as an investigator assigned to the Special Investigations Unit. Initiated and developed narcotics cases, as well as investigating such and bringing to closure by arrest. Also investigated several cases of a "special" nature for the Rome PD. These included internal investigations and all investigations of a confidential nature.
Served as a patrolman in the Rome PD, conducting routine patrol duties and operations. This included overt surveillance of residences and businesses, traffic enforcement, minor crime investigations and accident investigations.

The commissioner, subject to the provisions of law, has cognizance, jurisdiction, direction, supervision and control of government, administration, disposition and discipline of the police and fire departments. The commissioner also has the general direction and supervision of the expenditure of all monies appropriated to the police and fire departments. The commissioner of public safety is responsible for the safety and well being of the citizens of the City. A co-chair of the Weed and Seed Steering Committee responsible for the administration of a 1 million dollar grant from the U.S. Department of Justice. Was responsible for building a team of citizens of Rome, NY to take initiatives and to assist the city government to reduce crime in a targeted area of the city. Also was responsible for sustaining programs and initiatives created through Weed and Seed, without financial assistance.
President of the Rome Federal Credit Union since 1997, but a board member since 1984. During this time, a 2.5 million dollar embezzlement by a former manager was uncovered. Led the credit union through this time under the constant scrutiny of the National Credit Union Administration (NCUA). Instituted a complete "makeover" of the credit union once it was brought back to regular operation. This included a new logo, slogan, media blitz and some new staff to lead the day to day operation of the credit union.
