I have worked in the High Volume Automotive Industry for 22 years. Tier one customers included Toyota, Ford, GM, Chrysler and Nissan. Products made included everything from brackets, full body panels and frames to engine components. Volumes ranged from1000 parts a year to multi-million parts per year.
Non-Automotive customers included General Dynamics, AM General, Caterpillar, John Deere, International Harvester, Briggs and Stratton, Motorola, Tyco and Auto meter. I have worked with customers at all levels including design, program implementation and quality resolution.

Extensive background in the Toyota Production System and other lean manufacturing principles. Studied TPS in Japan at Toyota City. Implemented and taught classes on 5s, Quick Die Change, TQM, TPM and TPS as well as Value Stream Mapping and Kaizen. Trained Six Sigma Deployment champion. Throughout my career I have had experience with financials. I have had Profit and Loss responsibilities and I am very familiar with income statements and balance sheets. I have created budgets for entire plants, I have been accountable and have held direct reports accountable for adherence to budgets. I have also formulated and executed capital expenditure plans. I have created five-year business plans, which detailed long range plans for companies. I have worked closely with accounting and have had the accounting department as a direct report department prior in my career. I am very familiar with accounts payable and receivables and have assisted in customer and vendor interaction pertaining to both. I have been a cost estimator and a prototype coordinator in my career so I am very familiar with costing and the cost structure of parts and processes.

gears, bearings, undersea risers. Dramatically improved Quality, Delivery and increased sales from 12 to 22 million in one year. Implemented a “5s” program and other lean manufacturing programs.

Industries. Major customers are John Deere, Caterpillar, General Dynamics and American
General. In one year improved Quality from 14,000 PPM to 23 PPM. Improved delivery
rating from 78% on time and $400,000.00 in past due orders to customers to 100% on time
and 0 past due orders. Processes included: Precision Grinding and Super Finishing of forgings and
castings, Stamping, laser cutting, Mig, Tig and resistance welding and CNC machining of forgings.
Direct reports included Quality Manager, Purchasing Manager, Production Manager, Maintenance
Manager, Logistics Manager, Production Control Manager.
Aisin Light Metals LLC Marion, IL. 11/2003 – 3/2007
Plant Manager
Complete responsibility for this start up company that produces aluminum Extrusions.
Oversaw construction of the 140,000 square foot facility and compliance to the strict
completion schedule. Coordinated the scheduling and installation of all machines and
equipment including a 4000 ton extrusion press and robotic welders. Interviewed and hired
all Managers and staff for all departments including Quality, Engineering, Production
Control and Manufacturing. Successfully launched multiple multi million dollar projects
which are tier 1 supplied parts to Toyota Motor Company. Successfully implemented
the Toyota Production System and a Total Quality Management System. Plant received
Toyota Supplier Performance awards for both Quality and Delivery. Direct reports included

Tower Automotive, Kalamazoo, MI 5/1983- 10/2003
Plant Manager
In charge of all plant operations including Tools & dies for presses ranging from 90 ton up to 1600 tons.
Class “A” outer panels, resistance welding, wire welding, robotic weld cells, heat staking, multiple
assembly machines and operations. Responsibilities also included production, budgeting, capital
investments, strategic planning, purchasing and quality control, for this $70 million location with 250
employees that is a Tier 1 supplier and Q1 certified. Handled union negotiations with the UAW, as well
as safety compliance, procedural upgrades, implementation of robotic resistance and mig weld cells.
Implemented a Lean Manufacturing program, self-directed work teams, Kan-Ban scheduling and many
other world class manufacturing techniques. Oversaw the three-year QS9000 certification process,
along with introduction of a five-year business plan.
