During my twenty-six years law enforcement career, I have gained experience in all areas of this field. I specialized in two main areas of K9 functions, deployments, training and Special Weapons And Tactics. I served as the agency K9 training coordinator and attended Tarhill K9’s trainer instructor course. I have also attended many SWAT specific courses related to the organization and command of SWAT teams.

Several Letters of Commendation
I began my career at Forsyth in the Uniform Patrol Section but quickly was transferred to the Criminal Investigations Section. I was assigned and worked as lead investigator on two Homicide cases and obtained convictions on both. I attended the Criminal Investigations course and received an Academic Excellence Award.
I was later transferred to the Traffic Unit and asked to work one of the first agency dual purpose dogs. I did well in K9 and was given numerous commendations for apprehensions, narcotic finds and for locating two missing children. I was eventually names as agency K9 training coordinator and completed K9 instructor training courses.
October 1997, I was a member of the first SWAT team. I served as an entry team member, assistant team leader, team leader and Commander over the twenty-two years at Forsyth County.
July 2001, I was promoted to Sergeant.
May 2004, I started the grant funded H.E.A.T (Highway Enforcement of Aggressive Traffic) Unit as the supervisor of a three-man team.
Supervised for many years in Uniform Patrol, Special Operations, Criminal Investigations and Detention.
July 2013, I was promoted to Lieutenant and assigned as the Special Operations Unit Commander. This included the traffic unit, motor unit and animal control. During this time, the agency and traffic unit received several awards from the Highway Safety Administration.
I was later assigned to a Uniform Patrol Watch Commander spot and quickly led that shift to be the top producer in warrant clearance and arrest which drastically reduced the crime rate for property crime by 80%.
