- Responsibilities collecting & reviewing all patient information to ensure accurate biographic, demographic, insurance, & financial information before properly entering into the appropriate information systems.

-Working at the Greeter desk to obtain personal & demographic information from patients checking in, or family members visiting existing patients.

-Being in charge of the AMBO phone & answering calls from EMT’s or ER physicians to advise us that a new patient is either A) en route to ER (usually for “Priority One Patients in critical conditions/situations”) or B) a new patient has arrived in the ER & needs a quick registration to place them into the system & onto the computer board prior to printing out labels & putting together/placing wrist-band onto the patient. While you are in charge of the Ambo phone- you must stop what you are doing (even if you are in a patient room in the middle of a different patient registration) and respond to the Ambo call or request.

-Preparing all pre-admission and admitting forms and obtaining patient/guardian signatures (if necessary) to send to admitting dept.

-Compiling and distributing information regarding patients’ personal requests or inquiries to the unit secretary, Physician, and/or Nursing staff.

-Being responsible for Emergency Room-outpatient & inpatient admissions, as well as the receipt & dissemination of information to appropriate areas of the hospital.
