- Managed all aspects of a start-up business designing, financing, and installing distributed- generation solar energy systems for residential and commercial clients.

- Led successful proposal efforts resulting in a cumulative total of approximately $150 million in new contract backlog.

- Managed 70 technical employees working on more than 100 federal, state, municipal, and private-sector contracts, having grown my office to that point over a 10-year period from 22 employees and 10 contracts.

- Expanded the consulting capabilities of a start-up office and three existing environmental consulting practices into such areas as energy management and sustainability, asbestos and indoor air quality, wetlands and water management, emergency management planning, and other areas; also, assisted with firmwide strategic planning for federal government contracting.

- Responsible for technical quality control, client interaction, staff development, and financial performance for all office operations; in every position, successfully expanded staff size, technical capabilities and quality, and revenue and profit metrics.

- Managed a variety of contracts, ranging in value from $2,500 to $40 million, with private-sector clients, municipal and state agencies, and such federal agencies as the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration, the Federal Aviation Administration, and the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. RENEWABLE ENERGY AND SUSTAINABILITY SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

- Managed consulting work on a wide range of renewable energy projects ranging from small-scale rooftop solar installations to multiple siting studies and critical issues analysis for a variety of global renewable energy developer clients associated with utility-scale wind and solar developments in Kansas, Missouri, Texas, Alabama, Louisiana, Nebraska, and Georgia.

- Managed and supported numerous sustainability-focused projects, including work in support of a levee trails network and better walking trail connectivity in the Kansas City area; preparation of Smart Growth case studies for Kansas City area developers; stream corridor and natural resources inventories to aid in sustainable urban planning; development of best management practices and a model ordinance for sustainable management of municipal stormwater issues; and a variety of energy efficiency, green engineering, and carbon emissions reporting projects. - Managed environmental studies and permitting for new transmission line development projects in Kansas and Missouri.

- Managed projects focused on sustainable redevelopment of Brownfields properties in Kansas City, Kansas (multiple projects); downtown Leavenworth, Kansas; downtown Kansas City, Missouri; the Kansas City (Missouri) Riverfront Park; and in other cities throughout the area. Initiated and led the move of my company’s 70-person office from a suburban location into a rehabilitated building in a Brownfields area in the urban core of Kansas City.

- Planned and organized approximately 40 meetings, events, and workshops to promote the sharing of sustainability success stories and best practices within the Kansas City business community through the Green Business Network; led efforts that resulted in my company winning the Choose Environmental Excellence Award from this organization; early adopter of the Greater Kansas City Area Chamber of Commerce Climate Protection Partnership program. TECHNICAL SKILLS & EXPERIENCE:

- Managed multiple contracts providing such environmental services as asbestos studies and abatement, water quality studies, Brownfields property redevelopment, flood-related disaster- recovery services, lead-based paint abatement, contaminated soil and groundwater remediation, wetlands studies and mitigation, and property transfer due diligence.

- Conducted technical and quality control reviews in RCRA corrective action, Superfund site assessment, water resources, due diligence, and homeland security. Directly managed work assignments for the EPA Region 7 RCRA program, NOAA, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment, Nebraska Department of Environmental Quality, and private-sector clients.

- Managed a $2 million contract with the Kansas Department of Health and Environment to conduct site assessments at contaminated public water supply sites; provided insurance cost recovery services for railroads, energy utilities, and petroleum companies.

- Managed EPA-led RI/FS investigations and RCRA corrective action at facilities in Iowa and Nebraska. Conducted RCRA CEI inspections and environmental sampling at sites throughout EPA Regions 3, 4, 7, and 9.

- Acted as principal investigator for EPA evaluations of innovative site characterization technologies under the national EPA Superfund Innovative Technology Evaluation program.

- Managed remediation of contaminated soil and groundwater, and abatement of asbestos, at National Weather Service facilities at remote sites in Alaska; managed the restoration of coral reefs damaged by vessel groundings in the Florida Keys and Puerto Rico, and conducted multimedia compliance audits of a variety of NOAA facilities.

- Managed programs to maintain compliance with industrial pre-treatment and NPDES permits at a 3-million square-foot Department of Energy facility; developed that facility’s Environmental Monitoring Program and managed two contracts with environmental consultants (annual value of
