Directly responsible for ensuring that the facilities at the department’s 59 districts were sufficient to perform the department’s mission of keeping the city’s streets clean and free of litter, debris, snow and ice, and capable of housing all of the Department’s personnel and equipment required to perform its mission.

Reviewed engineering plans for new and rehabilitated facilities, coordinated plans for repairs to facilities and construction proposals with other Bureau’s. Established priorities for the relocation of Department garages and other facilities.

Instrumental in securing a 40 year agreement with Gateway National Park for the site at Floyd Bennett Field that is currently being used to house the Department’s Ronald A. DeCarlo Training Center.
