To whom it may concern:

Please accept my application for a position with your company that you may have to offer.

As you read through my resume you will find that I have spent many years working in a production environment most of which was in food production. I started as an assistant machine operator and progressed to being the main operator and crew leader. During the time spent as an operator I was responsible for many duties including running many different pieces of equipment, training all new employees, following all Gmp's and most importantly keeping everyone safe and following all safety related requirements including LOTO. There was a lot of documentation and following of recipe's and such. I would like to add that these were large production lines in a large facility, I personally had a crew of 12 employees. I also worked on many other lines and filled in for other operators when they were absent.

I have first hand knowledge of all types of equipment such as freezers, fillers, boxers, wrappers and coders just to name a few. I worked closely with maintenance personnel and helped repair equipment that broke down during production and also when lines were overhauled yearly. I used many types of tools for the repair and the setup of these machines daily. I am confident that with all my combined talents that I have to offer I would be a true asset to your company.

I am an energetic detailed oriented person who is truly a team player and enjoys working as part of a team to get the job done. I take a lot of pride in what I do and it shows in the quality of my work. I have the ability to work well with others from all walks of life and I realize that other people are dependent upon me.I followed through with all mandatory and volunteer training programs that were required and offered.

I recently left a well known company after 13 years of employment, to relocate to this area. Details of this company and my job duties can be found in my resume. I left on very good terms and was told I would be greatly missed. I rarely missed work and never accrued any disciplinary actions of any sort. I have great references from supervisors that can be followed up with as needed.

I would like to add a personal note about my character. I am responsible in my personal life with no criminal history and also have never had any drug or alcohol related issues. I would also like to note that I am bilingual.

I hope we are able to set up a time for an interview to discuss possible employment with your company. I would like the ability to meet in person to answer questions or address any concerns you may have.

You may contact me at your convenience if you would like to interview me. You may reach me by the email or telephone number that I have submitted. Thank you for your time in reading and processing my application.

Sincerely, Vilai N Lovan

Wells Enterprises "Blue Bunny Ice Cream" Lemars Iowa

Production Line Operator

This is a well known company that produces many types of ice cream and novelties. This factory produces the most ice cream than any one location in the world. We ran two shifts basically nights and days, my position was on nights and was the most demanding shift. Since we produced a raw product everything had to be torn down daily and cleaned/sanitized and put back together to start up on the night shift. The machines would be completely soaked so you would have to dry everything well and be careful not to contaminate anything as you were reinstalling all the pieces.

Much care was needed to make sure machines were put back together properly. We had to make sure all the hoses and lines were properly hooked up and all recipes were properly downloaded into the equipment and tested prior to the start time of production to insure a smooth startup.

The line had to be inspected for hazards and all e-stops needed to be checked before startup, also safety sheets for the lines had to be properly filled out. Safety was our highest priority and since I was responsible for 12 people on my line I made sure all protocols were properly followed. We had to have the right products delivered to the line and calculate all ingredients needed and at what amounts for that particular run. Many times we ran multiple products in one night so we would need different mixes, coloring, flavorings, inclusions, boxes/sleeves and wraps. Much care was needed when it came to cross contamination of allergens and microbes. Operators were responsible for making sure the wrappers, metal detectors, checkweighers and coders had the right codes and were set up properly also. Once the line was up and going I had the job of producing a good product within spec and maintaining the strict standards. We had SQF audits and had to follow all proper procedures to maintain the level of quality that was required.

When we had breakdowns I played a key role in assisting maintenance personnel to get line up and running with minimal downtime. I am very familiar with the proper operation and adjustment of photo eyes and similar devices and since I was involved in overhauls of this equipment I had knowledge of how it worked and parts needed for quick repairs.
