Physics Department at University of Central Florida
May 2014 - August 2017
Responsibilities: Troubleshooting and repairing scientific lab equipment. Wrote up Standard Operations Procedures (SOP) for microscopes and other scientific equipment. I logged the chemical inventory for the physics labs and was responsible for reordering supplies. I was the super-user of scientific devices and updated the SOPs to be able to train new users. I worked in a chemical and materials-science laboratory setting, following clean room protocols. I checked in with the head researchers every morning to discuss what the priorities were for each day.

Responsibilities: I was in charge of operating the observatory dome and setting up all the telescopes for public use. With a small team, I helped coordinate how to entertain while educate the public in viewing the sky and giving small demonstrations on topics in astronomy.
Duties: Greeting guests and answering any questions science related to the best of my ability. Setting up and breaking down telescopes every day.

I achieved a B.S. degree in General Physics, a minor in Mathematics, and a minor in Philosophy. While at university, I worked two jobs, one of them in the physics department on campus, and the other working as an independent contractor rickshaw driver to sustain my living and learning expenses. From my experience, not only did I learn a lot about math and science and the nature of nature, but I learned how to adapt into a team setting, give presentations, take the lead on projects, and finish tasks under pressure.
