I, MANJOORU BASHA, Here is my teaching statement as a Teacher of Mathematics.

My Philosophy of Teaching:

At the outset, I would like to state that teaching for me is not just a profession, it is a mission. I believe in the words of a great scholar: “A teacher influences an eternity, even he may not know here the influence ends.” No other profession has so much of an opportunity to prepare an individual – to face challenges in life – as much as a teacher has. The future of not only a learner but also the society is made in the class room. All great men and women who made a mark on the world were taught by their teachers. I strongly believe that the world can never pay back its due to a good teacher. A teacher is not a good teacher if he is not a good learner first. He should never stop learning. And a teacher’s aim is not just to teach well, he should make learning an exciting and interesting experience to his students / learners. Extracting the best out of the learners and prepare them for the future is the noblest work of a teacher.

My Approach to Teaching:

Teaching or the job of a teacher is not confined to a few theoretical aspects. It should be a practical and a live experience for the learners. Time and again I try to make my students to think for themselves. I try to show them the way, but I don’t carry them on my shoulders. They should walk the path. Education is not worthy if it cannot be put into practice while dealing with real life situation. While dealing with my learners, I keep in my mind the different types of students some sharp and some slow to grasp. My focus will be on making an ordinary / average student interested in what he learns. Arousing interest in him and showing him how that knowledge helps him is my primary duty.

Giving knowledge to a student is one aspect but to see that he applies it practically in his research and career is more important an aspect. The experts say ‘seeing is believing’. Similarly, the only way to solve a problem is to go through it. It is my endeavor to see that a student spends quality time on practically using / applying the input he received from them. So the time he spends in the laboratory is more productive than the one he does in the classroom.

The Outcomes of my approach to the teaching:

As a teacher of Mathematics, I have been experienced in my long career that those students who did try to be practice during their learning stage have done exceptionally well in their career in various places and today most of them are in very reputed organizations and both with in India and abroad.

The organization expects me to make and mould its students into eminent men of science. They are to become explorers and researchers, not merely men of knowledge based on theory. Analyze, evaluate, share…. These methods / techniques have shown me good results, so I believe in them.

With my students and fellow collogues, I make learning ‘a team work’ so that the best ideas are put into practice to get desired results.

Summary

I am an experienced, qualified teacher & tutor with 10 years of experience in teaching Math’s across different boards, including CBSE/ICSE/STATE BOARD/ IIT-JEE MAINS. Passionate about solving mathematical problems. Over the years I have helped thousands of students overcome their fear of Maths.

So far I have worked as a teacher in various organizations in India & abroad DUBAI(UAE).
