Duties Performed In Control Room:

Perform various unit operations – phase separation, heat exchange, stabilization; etc from DCS.

Operate gas turbine driven compressors in series/ parallel, speed / load shared / suction-discharge pressure; control mode.

Operate compressors & well head in Production & Re-injection mode.

Perform sequence changeover of compressor & pipelines for Import / Export mode.

Communicate with relative control stations for deciding operating strategy of gas demand – supply – Re-injection.

Take preventive action on equipment operation based on Bad weather forecast.

Check graphics & take proactive action to avoid deviation of normal process operation.

Prepare contingency / rescue plan to be followed; in emergency due to loss of critical equipment / catastrophic incident.

Verify operation modes of controller - auto / manual / cascade & values of set point / output for controlling elements.

Operate controllers configured in split range / parallel range / feed forward / PV tracking / ratio control modes.

Conduct periodic checks to ensure functioning of critical logic controller in terms of Bypass, inhibit & over-ride.

Duties Performed As Plant Operator:

Carry out physical check on operating equipments & log readings (temp, press; etc.)

Prepare compressor for startup – casing draining, adjust seal gas flow, fuel gas draining, lube oil circulation; etc.

Carry out piping walk down & inspect line joints / flanges / mounted equipments - PSV / instrument tapping integrity.

Carry out routine patrolling of plant & notify for abnormal temperature, vibration, noise, smell; etc.

Ensure instant availability of standby pump & verify warm up, seal, lube oil pot level & minimum flow integrity.

Physically confirm position (% open/close) of control valves, levels of separators / tanks, seal loops; versus DCS values.

Ensure smooth working of compressor lube oil, dry & wet seal system.

Optimize operation of dehydration & glycol regeneration system to ensure sales gas meets specified Dew point.

Injection of Methanol / Ethanol to troubleshoot hydration problems.

Check flame pattern in firebox, Soot blowing & burner (Fuel oil - fuel gas) change over.

Launch & receive Pigs – foam / brush / magnetic / intelligent; monitor delta pressure, pig travel & fluid flows velocity.

Zero state, Purge, Inert, De-contaminate, Lock out / Tag out, Leak / Pressure test reactors, columns, compressors, flow meters & material handling equipments as per HSE standards.

Observe for safe / unsafe acts & raise S.T.O.P. cards.

Sampling of high pressure gas in bombs & carry out H2S survey.

Prepare Boot tanks & monitor doing rates – corrosion inhibitor, pH regulator, de-emulsifiers & pour point depressants.

Preparation of storage tanks - draining water, gauging, heating, load & offload tanks.

Process: Produce oil and gas, Dehydrate, Re-inject and Export Gas (cap. - 300 mmscfd) Control & monitor plant operation.

Process consists of oil, gas & water production from wells, separate oil, gas and water in three phase separator. Gas is dehydrated by regenerated TEG to maintain dew point. Condensate in gas is extracted by J.T effect & stabilized for R.V.P correction. Gas is further exported (sale) through CTM or pressurized to required pressure & injected in wells by use of Re-injection compressor. Alternately reservoir is used as a natural storage facility & excess gas is Export via pipeline. Critical equipments handled are – Gas turbines, Compressors, gas-glycol heat exchanger, low temperature separator, Gas Absorber, Stabilizer, Dual -fired furnace (Heaters); etc.

Handled Chemical are Coagulant, Scale Inhibitor, Oxygen Scavenger, Defoamer, Bactricide Amine and Bactricide Aldehyed in Sea water Treatment for water injection, Demulsifier, Oil Corrosion Inhibitors and Dewaxing agents (PPD) are used in Oil Processing, Tri Etheline Glycol & Gas Corrosion Inhibitors are used in Gas Processing.

Water Separation Treatment & Water Injection Unit: Produced water flash vessel, SRP (sulphate removal package) high disposal pumps & injection wells with water injection pumps & booster pump including vacuum package & de-aerator tower.

Amine Sweetening Process: To remove Hydrogen Sulphide and Carbon dioxide from Process Gas.

A stream of dry clean processed gas is used as fuel for operating turbine driven machines –

All kind of operations like opening and closing of wells with D.H.S.V and surface safety valves by manual mode and routine maintenance of different valves, well head safety equipment pressure testing, servicing of chokes, checking wear on positive chokes and changes them to optimize production. Periodic checking production, intermediate and surface casing pressure of individual wells and bleed of the same, observe and report the outcomes of the casing. Wire line Operation: Do different types of wire line works like Dummy Run, Well activated by using Surge Plug, Lock the Flapper in the Safety Valve by using Permanent Lockout Tool, Storm Choke Installation, also Installing & Retrieving Gas Lifting Valve from the Mandrel by using Kick over Tool. Redressing the different Types of Wire line Tools like Surge Plug, G.S. Pulling Tool. J.D.C. Pulling Tool, J.D.S. Pulling Tool, D.H. Running Tool made by Baker, Camco, Otis & Halliburton.
