Tableau to provide recommendations to managers, senior management and other end users in order to help them get a better understanding of the information being discussed.

Project #1: Strategic Customer Segmentation for Retail Business (June 2012 to Dec 2013)

(Python(Pandas, Numpy, matplotlib,seaborn,re,math,requests),SQL,Excel))

Source of Data: CRM (Customer Relationship Management), DMS(Dealer Management System), warranty data set, SQL database, containing a few lakh observations with attributes like; Customer ID, product details, payment Mode, all purchases details, last purchase details, location etc.

Project: In this project the dataset from above sources of passenger car and commercial vehicle retail business for the last two years were considered. The objective of this use case was to do customer segmentation in this data set for targeted marketing strategies.

Responsibilities:

Worked closely with different business leads in designing and analyzing the data

Ability to dig into raw data to find and evaluate actionable insights that will help the organization

Extracted, performed validation and generated Python data sets; using SQL queries and importing data from excel spreadsheets and flat files.

Extract the data from various data warehouses and create ad-hoc reports, tables, and graphs per business needs in Excel

Used programming languages like Python with packages like Numpy, Pandas for importing and cleaning data, manipulating dataframes with Pandas and data visualization was done with matplotlib on Spyder IDE and also using some of the advanced excel functions.

Undertook various data pre-processing like taking care of missing values within the data set, taking care of categorical values, dividing that dataset into training and test sets and applying feature scaling to the datasets.

For this project, customer’s recency, frequency and monetary (RFM) analysis a marketing technique was used to determine quantitatively which customers are the best ones by examining how recently a customer has purchased (recency), how often they purchase (frequency), and how much the customer spends (monetary).

From these three derived values, the entire customer base was segmented to generate insights on the data set provided, to do customer segmentation using RFM Model based Clustering Analysis with the help of k-means algorithm, to visualize and interpret the results, and select the number of clusters when it's not known ahead of time.

Provided python programming support and technical assistance in the development and intermediate steps as and when required.

Prepared reports, memos, worksheets, dashboards and storyboards explaining the findings through visuals generated from Tableau to provide recommendations to managers and other decision makers on the effects of various courses of action to take in order to address a problem.

Project #2: Customer Complaints Analysis (May 2011 to June 2012)

(Python (Pandas, Numpy, matplotlib,seaborn,re,math,requests)R(dplyr, ggplot),SQL,Excel)

Source of Data: CRM, DMS, warranty data set, SQL database, containing a few lakh observations with attributes like; Customer ID, Payment Mode, Product Details, Complaint, Location, Status of the complaint, etc.

Project: The objective of this use case was to conduct the customer complaint analysis using Python/R in Spyder/R-studio IDE.

Responsibilities:

Get the number of complaints filed under each product the data was available in excel sheet format where in the data was imported to the IDE using industry-standard pandas library and, build, it to a data frame. Using data

manipulation and transformation techniques like indexing, slicing and filtering was able to convert the data into a form that permitted easy analysis. Matplotlib package was used to visually represent the number of complaints filed under each category of the vehicle like, LCV (Light Commercial Vehicles), M&HCV (Medium and Heavy Commercial Vehicles).Used programming languages like Python with packages like Numpy, Pandas for importing and cleaning data, manipulating dataframes with Pandas and data visualization was done with matplotlib on Spyder IDE and also using some of the advanced excel functions.

Used statistical programming language like R with libraries like dplyr and ggplot for importing, cleaning, tidying and manipulating data, data visualization was done using the package ggplot in RStudio IDE

Examined the information to figure out what is relevant to a problem and what methods might be used to analyze it.

Get the total number of complaints filed from a particular location by doing exploratory data analysis by plotting the data and computing simple summary statistics of the data and using probability theory to predict the occurrence of discrete quantities like number of complaints filed in this case.

Get the list of complaints grouped by location which has no timely response, using statistical tools, simulations and predictive modelling techniques like multiple linear regression model, and further performed dimensionality reduction technique like linear discriminant analysis (LDA) and measured the accuracy of the model.

Prepared dashboards for customer complaint analysis grouped by location and adhoc reports and memos for the marketing and service team to discuss the analysis results and take necessary corrective actions for the same.

(R(dplyr, ggplot),SQL,Excel)

Source of Data: CRM and DMS Dataset.

Project: The goal of this use case was to explore the CRM-Customer Relationship management and Dealer Management Systems(DMS) dataset, given the parameters like: "model", "year and make", "customer category", "vehicle purchase mode", etc. and to use analytics to device new pricing and marketing strategies.

Responsibilities:

Responsible for the cleaning, reformatting, analysis and loading the data into the database

To find out top ten customer categories (key accounts, institutions, corporates, retail customers) who bought the maximum number of vehicles. The data was available in excel sheet format where in the data was imported to

current working directory of IDE, and tools from dplyr packages was used to convert the data set to a data frame. Data manipulation techniques with dplyr package was used to tidy, rearrange, and restructure the data by pivoting/ melting and stacking/un-stacking dataframes.

Used statistical analysis, simulations, predictive modeling, and other methods to analyze information to help develop practical solutions relating to the business problem.

To plot a graphical representation to show number of vehicles purchased each year directly from dealers and booked directly through the company. -- Statistical plots with base graphics and ggplot2 tools was used for computing and visualizing linear regressions as well as tools for visualizing univariate distributions (e.g. strip, swarm and violin plots).

To understand the value of various consumer segments (for example by frequency of purchase, geographic location, by age, income, etc.) and if they all provide the same value to the company’s sales and growth objectives. -- tools from correlation and regression analysis were used to deal with the labeled data sets for identifying the relationship between a dependent variable and one or more independent variables and using correlation coefficients to study the strength of the linear relationship between a pair of variables.

Prepared dashboard having violin plots, box, whisker plots for visualizing linear regression to explain univariate distributions to show a graphical representation of the number of vehicles purchased directly from the dealers and those purchased directly from the company.

Project #4: Improving Customer Satisfaction Index (Jan 2008 to Feb 2010)
