Five years public accounting and auditing experience working independently conducting engagements from planning to finish with mostly non for profits such as public schools and technical schools, and municipal governments in auditing financial, grant compliance to include state and federal grant compliance, and internal control related to client’s operation and related policies and procedures; composing management letter reporting departures from compliance and weaknesses in internal controls
Expect accounting knowledge gained through both working for several different non for profits and educational experience; as well as proven ability to apply and communicate controls and policies to board members and staff level, both written and verbally
In my current position as the Assistant Finance Director, I am responsible for the yearly Audited Financial Statements preparation, oversight, and review for financial accuracy and most current required disclosures
Serve as first line supervisor for about 15 plus finance staff
Provides oversight, development and management of fund revenues and expenditures specific to the Oklahoma Aquarium; which operates is the non for profit branch of the JAA trust of the city
