Regional Credit Officer

My primary duty was market loan products to members and non-members of United Producers livestock marketing cooperative with total loan volume of $100M. I coordinated efforts with Illinois marketing staff to generate widespread awareness of United Producers Inc.’s total package of credit, financial analysis, risk management and marketing products.

Expanded existing loan portfolio from $1.3M to $2.6M in 2008. Economic downturn reduced portfolio to 1.8 million in 2009 and 1.5 million in 2010. Pursued loans of up to $4.5 million.

Performed all tasks related to complete financial analysis of potential customers credit worthiness including analysis of current and historical financial position (including net worth, liquidity, debt repayment capacity and collateral coverage), future trends and plans, collateral analysis and debt repayment ability.

Utilized contacts from position as Program Manager of AgrAbility Unlimited Project to grow awareness of Producers Credit Corporation/United Producers, Inc. in Illinois.

Worked closely with UPI marketing staff to revitalize relationship between marketing and lending departments. Cross sold marketing products and services to grow both division’s business.

Prepared loan documentation for all types of agriculture related loans including crops, livestock, equipment, buildings and a very limited exposure to real estate.

Program Manager, AgrAbility Unlimited Project

AgrAbility provides disability services to Illinois residents and educates the agricultural community about program benefits. I provided program leadership and development to the state-wide program of disability services for farm families dealing with disabling accidents and illnesses. Prepared proposals to secure grant funding and marketed program throughout Illinois to grow awareness of program goals with existing and new stakeholders. Coordinated marketing program to increase awareness of program that included newsletter development, key news article placement, web-site development and interaction with key stakeholders in Illinois ag. community to garner support for and awareness of program. Developed and maintained relationships with extension personnel, USDA’s FSA staff, legislative members and staff and producer organizations. Acted as key liaison to other AgrAbility state programs and the staff of the national project both at the land grant and disability service provider partners.

Created network of more than 70 volunteers to expand program awareness. This became the model for other projects throughout the nation. Grew volunteer program from 4 volunteers to over 70 covering the 72 rural counties in Illinois. This effort became the model for the national AgrAbility project and all other state projects

Successfully partnered with Project Director and key staff members to compete with 28 other states and attain grant for 4-year funding cycle.

Assisted 225+ clients with direct program services and 1,200 prospective clients with information inquiries about available resources. Clients served grew 500 % during my tenure as program manager.

Led effort to secure state funding after discontinuation of federal funding in 2006. Worked with state legislators to pass Illinois AgrAbility Act which created budget line item for inclusion in appropriations for fiscal years 2006 and 2007. Created a network of key staff to ensure continued success after the initial passage.

Served on Planning committee for National training conference for 7 years and hosted national conference in 2004.

Utilized industry events ( trade shows, conferences, etc.) to increase public awareness by utilizing staff, volunteers and former clients staff the booths.
