Safety Consultant Alcoa-Ma’aden Joint Venture Refinery Saudi Arabia 2014 – 2016

Overview: Operated as team lead while facilitating numerous health and safety training programs, focused on preparing workers in Saudi Arabia for standard operations within an aluminum refinery. Conducted numerous audits, investigating contractor EHS history and experience, to ensure incoming workers could perform tasks in adherence to regulations.

Selected Accomplishments:

Implemented Alcoa’s Human Performance program in Saudi Arabia, following successful integration within Jamaican operations. Program adapts to increase safety processes during periods of decreased employee attention, including holiday and near-weekend shifts, reducing number of onsite injuries.

Incorporated review program to identify and resolve numerous safety violations related to scaffold use and maintenance, resulting in a significant decrease in violations and improvement to worker safety policies.

Key Responsibilities:

Risk Assessment: Evaluated project specifications and requirements to determine all potential and present risks onsite. Adapted information to create detailed risk reports and analysis, recommending program and training counter-measures to prevent onsite accidents and injuries.
