Bed Bath & Beyond initiated a strategy program to migrate their Corporate Intranet site named Bednet to Mysource web portal, Platform supporting responsive design, so that their portals will render on all device types in a flexible way. The main goals of this initiative is to meet the needs of day to day tasks of all the Bed Bath and Beyond Store employees and to meet the challenges experiencing currently with the existing Bednet site. Bednet is currently driven content from Lotus notes Domino systems. Currently there is no single sign on in the Bednet site. With the Bednet redesign program single sign on with multiple systems like JDA, Workforce management systems, IDM will be integrated.
The Beyond Store (ATG) Web Application: TbsNext is a web-based applications used by the store associates to place orders. Orders once placed will flow to Down Stream (DS), where when the initially status is ‘allocated’ the store associates can edit the orders if needed and release them to Distributed Order Management (DOM). After successfully fulfilling the order, DOM generates a DO using which shipment takes place
Responsibilities:

SAINSBURY workforce management application is used to schedule the SAINSBURY employees working in more than 250 stores into various shift and in various departments (like men’s section, kids section, women’s section etc.) based on the availability of the employees. Report is also a part of our software solution to SAINSBURY. The store managers have access to various reports, based on their roles and they run these reports from KRONOS application.
These reports are developed in Visual Studio 2005 in BIDS which are deployed in KRONOS server. When the manager runs the report from the application, the RDL is picked up from the server and the report gets generated.

Nordstrom workforce management application is used to schedule the NORDSTROM employees working in 140 stores into various shift and in various departments (like men’s section, kids section, women’s section etc.) based on the availability of the employees. The managers of each department are given access to another application called SITE MANAGER where the manager can view the employee details, schedules of the employees, the exception in their punch timings, the time off (leave) requests requested by the employees and the ranking of the employees with respect to their departments for which the manager is given access to.
The employees have access to another application named ESS (Employee Self Services) which is accessible by the employees only. In ESS the logged in employee only can see his details i.e. the profile, the schedules and their respective time offs.
