Operate cash registers at the front of the stores, greeting customers warmly as the make purchases. Scan all items, process cash, check and credit transactions and deactivate security devices on bags and items purchased. Maintain the amount of cash in the registers. Also, verify customer’s ages when they buy restricted merchandise such as beer or wine. Cleaning work areas and returning merchandise to shelves and racks are other responsibilities of the Walmart cashier.

2012 – 2015 Human Resources - HR Assistant – US American Embassy, Kabul Afghanistan

Oversee the Employees Evaluation Report (EER) for all the American employees at the U.S. American Embassy, Kabul, Afghanistan. In the Human Resources Office, I served as the section main timekeeper for only the American employees. Also, I assisted the American employees with any other issues related to the Human Resources Office.

2010- 2011 Human Resources - Program Specialist – US American Embassy, Baghdad, Iraq

Responsible for in-processing of all newly-arrived employees by welcoming them in the Human Resources (HR) Office of Mission Baghdad. Based on each individual’s hiring mechanism, and the length of assignment/TDY to Baghdad, incumbent assists employees in filling out benefits and allowances forms correctly.

Explains Baghdad Time & Attendance (T&A) procedures to new arrivals as it is unique and complicated in Baghdad; explains post Mission Baghdad in and out travel policy.

Developed understanding of each hiring mechanism used in Baghdad, i.e., Limited Non-Career Appointment (LNA), Locally Engaged Employees (LES) Temporary Duty Assignment (TDY), in order to know correctly what information to give to each category, as they are not alike. Accordingly, and based on each employee’s nature and duration of assignment/TDY, ensures that staffs check out correctly when they depart post in order to coordinate with Charleston or Bangkok payroll to guarantee benefits are adjusted accordingly.

Managed spreadsheets to ensure all staffs are fully accounted for at all time. Notified departing staffs of their check-out responsibilities one month prior to departure, and to advise all arriving staffs to follow-up with in two weeks of arrival to the Human Resources Office. Drafts Emergency Visitation Travel Cables (EVT), and others HR-related cables so the employees get their benefits correctly. Updates post profile for worldwide view. Changes and designs the welcome packets as needed; knows when to add/delete legal documents requiring signatures. Acts as the administrator for the HR SharePoint and regularly checks web gram for HR-related cables.
