Responsibilities Held:

Handling procurement of Commodities for projects, technical and commercial discussions with the vendor and making agreements.

Referring P & I Diagram to work out the list of Electrical motors & Instrumentation Ancillaries with Proper specifications & ratings.

Preparing Control Philosophy and Design of Control Panel of various types based upon Relay Logic, PLC logic, VFD controlled, MCC & PMCC.

Preparation of Cable Schedule & Other list of Accessories.

Inspection of Mechanical, Electrical instruments & Control panel as per purchase order & Specifications

Inspection of Hydraulic power pack & instruments associated with it.

Visiting Sites for Erection & Commissioning of Control panel & Hydraulic Power Pack.

Pooling, aggregating requirements of commodities and procuring the same.

Costing of commodities and organizing technical presentations.

Frame agreements.

Supplier Management.

Sourcing / identifying Vendors / Identifying alternate source.

Inviting quotations / Analyzing / Target costing/ Negotiating and finalizing of Rates.

Planetary Gearbox, Various types of Vacuum, Water & Slurry Pumps, Air Blower, Bearings, Inline & Worm type Gearbox, Bowed Roller, HT/LT Motors, Instruments, Switches, Transmitters, Flow meters, Manual & Solenoid operated various types of valves, Pressure/vacuum gauges, VFD/PLC/MCC Panels, Electric Cables & Accessories, Planetary Gearbox, Slewing Ring, Hydraulic Motor, Hydraulic Power Pack & Cylinders, Pulleys, VFD, PLC, HMI, SCADA, Relays, Transformers, Electronic Switch gears.

Major Achievements in Tenova India:

1.Achieved Major increase in Discounts for the ABB & Siemens Motors.

2.Standardize the make, model no, price & delivery for major instruments & electrical items.

3.Successfully established good relationship with the major vendors which helped our other departments for technical inputs, new development, better payment terms & faster delivery of urgent requirements. Also it included site support & faster delivery of spares when required.

4.Successfully completed the ordering and delivery for the Electrical panels & Instruments for Natalka, Russia project within required date to save 15% LD.

5.Independently handled the Spare Orders worth Crores in INR right from estimation, ordering & dispatch to the end client.

6.Successfully Ordered & Completed the Delivery for all the Electrical & Instrumentation items for GFL, Morocco. This was really a challenge for me since most of the equipment we were supplying to this turnkey project was new to us. I learnt new concepts, new technical parameters, came across new vendors. It was a major boost to my technical & commercial experience.

7.I was also part of a project for OCP, Morocco where we had supplied our largest High Rated Thickener till date. Especially I handled Nucleonic type & Ultra sonic type Density Meter which was very special instrument.

8.Successfully established the vendors for some special instruments like Pressure Transmitter, Bed Mass Transmitter & Bed Level Transmitter. Earlier we were dependent on only one vendors for each item. Now we have 3-4 vendors for all these instruments like E & H, ABB, Royce, Hach, Rosemount.

9.Visited Vendor places for Inspection & Testing of Items what I have ordered & learnt the practical functioning & trouble shooting.

10.Visited to Client’s places during Erection & Commissioning of our Equipment to understand the functioning & requirement of the items what I am ordering. This also made me consider these inputs when I was finalizing or checking or preparing any documents.

Extra Responsibilities handles apart from Procurement activities:

Preparation & Study of Technical Documents like data sheets, cable list, etc from Tender Documents, P&ID, etc

Inspection & Testing of Electrical Items in Stores and in Vendor place.

Preparation of QC documents like Inspection Report.
