Summary of Responsibilities:
• Working with the team to reinforce the plan of care and self-help solutions and entering appropriate information into the electronic record.

• Intermittently serve as a medical technician in the clinical laboratory with responsibility of performing a wide variety of procedures in urinalysis, serology, chemistry, hematology, coagulation, microbiology, shipping and specimen collection of blood, urine, and other body fluids
• Work in such areas as hematology, bacteriology, mycology, virology, parasitology, immunology, serology, immunohematology (blood banking), and clinical chemistry (including endocrinology and toxicology) as they relate to clinical laboratory practice
• Performs phlebotomy and other specimen collection procedures and is required to run the front desk of the laboratory when needed
• Modify or design laboratory procedures. Establish and monitor quality control systems and measures
• Provide instruction in the basic theory, technical skills, and application of laboratory test procedures
• Operate or monitor diagnostic and therapeutic medical instruments and equipment associated with cardiac catheterization, pulmonary examinations
• Performs general clerk related activities in support of laboratory requirements. Sets up and monitors record-keeping systems and effective quality control procedures
