SELECTIVE ACHIEVEMENTS:
Operational Management
Responsible for expanding production operations at a growing pharmaceutical company to enhance visibility and profit margins. Resulting in a 65% increase in production capacity and providing the ability to increase market share.
Scheduled production changeovers for multiple fresh product lines in a high-volume “Just-In-Time” food processing operation. Enabled delivery of finished product ready for shipment within 72 hours of the receipt of the customer’s order.
Negotiated a new contract for additional Temporary labor to supplement in-house staffing on finished product packaging line for a 24/7 pharmaceutical manufacturer. Achieved desired staffing flexibility in packaging to prevent excessive FT employee headcounts, thereby reducing packaging costs.
Refined the processing and packaging procedures for a new fresh product launched by a major food-manufacturing corporation. Capacity was able to ramp up at a rate that exceeded the steadily growing volume of customer orders.
Planning and Analysis
Contributing member of a team writing a Business Continuity Management plan for a wholesale printing corporation. The resulting strategy outlined second paths for components essential to servicing customers after an unexpected disruption of business capabilities. The BCM plan was approved by the Board of Directors for implementation.
Co-Developed a 235-acre real estate venture near Dominical, Costa Rica where targeted investments to date have yielded an audited four-fold increase in property value. Currently leveraging current real estate assets in order to expand inventory by way of negotiated land options for future sales opportunities.
Audited safety compliance for a three different manufacturing operations. Information gathered via the audit process was utilized to modify methods, layouts and structures in order to minimize possibility of future employee injuries due to preventable conditions.
Process Improvement
Liaison between Business Excellence group and production personnel. Positioned to champion benefits of process modifications generated by Lean Methodology to increase throughput, optimize equipment efficiency, reduce cycle time and eliminate waste.
Redesigned audit tracking system to allow mid-level management to monitor 5S compliance. Established central location for audit results, improved ability to identify reoccurring problems, while providing an active list of corrective actions and responsibility.
Oversight and overall coordination of an employee “idea generating” initiative at a Minnesota manufacturing facility to maximize communication between management and employees. This program delivered new approaches which cut costs, streamlined procedures and improved employee morale.
Mentoring and Training
Coordinated a proactive training program for a major retooling initiative implemented by a world-class Information Storage producer. Guaranteeing tool operator skills would be certified and available in advance of schedule requirements.
Leader of a team which conducted an all inclusive employee job satisfaction survey initiated by the departmental Director of Operations. The results were matched against previous survey data to gauge progress, and to determine target areas where added focus would further improve employee moral and growth.
