Created and managed a wide variety of public relations and marketing/communications activities for BBPR clients, including media relations, special events, website development, video/television production, social media campaigns, community outreach, focus groups, advertising design and placement, collateral conceptualizing and copywriting, account management, and the development of strategic partnerships.

Saint John’s Health Center and the John Wayne Cancer Institute (hospital and foundation) Managed regional day-to-day media relations, advertising, physician marketing, event participation (e.g. celebrity galas, new building ground breakings and openings) and speaking engagements. Managed development of Emmy-nominated video, award-winning quarterly magazines, monthly newsletters, collateral material and employee communications. Created and oversaw production of weekly award-winning local television program, “Coffee Break.” Worked strategically with development department to secure at least $500,000 in donations through PR efforts. Reached Capital Campaign total of $360 million with PR assistance. Currently working with the Foundation to mark the hospital’s 75th Anniversary; conceived of ad concepts and placed $1 million in advertising in 6 months. The campaign won the 2018 Communicator Award for an Integrated Campaign. In addition, produce two 30-page magazines for Saint John’s Foundation, John Wayne Cancer Institute, and Pacific Neuroscience Institute.

Kaiser Permanente West Los Angeles/Santa Monica (Non-profit hospital and insurance company Responsible for positioning Kaiser’s new Santa Monica facility among an extremely competitive market. Developed strategic, out-of-the-box local marketing activities for Kaiser, such as the creation of a beach-themed campaign on the Big Blue Bus, securing a 2-year, exclusive sponsorship with the LA Marathon, exclusively tying in with the City of Santa Monica’s Wellness Index, sponsoring appropriate community events in the City of Santa Monica, such as the Santa Monica Chamber of Commerce’s State of the City event, Buy Local event, Wellness event, and the Annual Board of Directors inauguration event. In addition, arranged for sponsorship of the annual Santa Monica on Ice outdoor ice skating rink, and the Malibu Santa Monica school districts’ Dancing with the Santa Monica Stars event, among several others. The campaign won multiple PRSA communications awards that year.
California Hospital (hospital and foundation) - Assisted in physician marketing, special events, media relations, social media campaigns, advertising campaigns and development of collateral marketing material.
Glendale Memorial Hospital (hospital and foundation) Internal marketing consultant: assisted in physician marketing, special events, social media campaigns, print advertising campaigns and development of collateral marketing material.
Eisenhower Medical Center (hospital and foundation) Full time consultant for 2 years; wrote content for quarterly “Healthy Living” Magazine; developed concept and produced an award-winning weekly medical show to coincide with Healthy Living Magazine content; show ran in “Prime Time” on Sunday evenings following “60 Minutes.”
Children’s Hospital Los Angeles Managed local day-to-day media relations for emergency preparedness campaigns and other media relations initiatives.
Angeles Clinic and Research Institute (cancer care and research institute) Managed regional day-to-day media relations, physician marketing, website management, event participation and speaking engagements. Managed media campaign around the launch of new drug Ipilimumab (Yervoy) with Bristol-Myers Squibb.
Los Angeles County Health Department Emergency Preparedness Campaign
Developed and executed multi-lingual, multi-media public education campaign to make LA County residents aware of how to prepare for an emergency by getting to know their neighbors. Campaign included educational video, advertising, media relations, special events, strategic partnerships, web site development, social media, community outreach.
LA County Health Department Office of AIDS Programs and Policy - Raised awareness of HIV/AIDS resources. Managed local day-to-day media relations, media buying and event participation for public education annual awareness campaigns (World AIDS Day, HIV Day, Latino HIV Day, African American HIV Days.
The Lowell Milken Institute of Business Law and Policy at the UCLA School of Law - Developed Institute web site, micro-site for their annual Private Fund Conference, developed and distributed external on-line newsletter, and conducted media outreach. On behalf of the Institute, worked with noteworthy media outlets such as the Los Angeles Daily Journal, Bloomberg Business News and Investor’s Business Daily.
UCLA Extension – Handled media outreach efforts for classes and events. Developed comprehensive media outreach plan. Executed plan; developed press releases, distributed press releases, placed stories in media outlets, attended and managed media at various events.
Step Up on Second (Non-profit organization for mentally ill homeless) Raised awareness of homeless and mental illness resources. Managed local day-to-day media relations, speaking engagements and event participation (new building ground breakings and openings). Assisted in social media campaign and development of strategic partners. Worked strategically with development department to bring in donations through PR efforts. Approximately $1 million was raised through PR efforts.
Children’s Institute (Non-profit organization for at risk children) Raised awareness of child abuse, violence and other trauma resources for at risk youth and families. Manage regional day-to-day media relations and event participation (designer fashion shows, celebrity poker tournaments, conferences, new building ground breakings and openings). Assist in social media campaigns and development of strategic partners. Worked strategically with development department to bring in donations through PR efforts.
Didi Hirsch Mental Health Services (Non-profit organization for mentally ill and suicide prevention) Raised awareness of suicide hotline (the largest hotline in the USA), suicide prevention and mental health resources (organization’s annual budget doubled from $15 million to $31 million). Managed national day-to-day media relations, community outreach, speaking engagements and event participation (luncheon galas, 5K Run/Walks). Assisted in social media campaign, website updates and development of strategic partners. Worked with development department to attract donations through PR efforts.
