Extracurricular Activities
.While studying at Pedagógico de Maracay, I was part of the institutional Chess Club and participated in several chess events intra and extramural. This helped me to create and execute -without profit- a "Project to Bring the Science Game to the poor Neighborhoods of the South of Maracay City". At that time, I enrolled 82 fifth and sixth grade students in the schools of the neighborhoods of San Carlos, Jose Gregorio, Los Cocos, San Rafael and San Luis. I took the course to a successful conclusion after 4 months (September-December 1985) in the old José Gregorio Hernández Neighborhood Service Module. I did this work on my own initiative initially; later on, motivated by the politicians of the time, who promised me a job in a school in the San Carlos neighborhood where I lived. I became so attached to those children that I did not look for the promised position anymore and ended up going back to my home state (Guárico) where I could to get into the teaching system one year after I graduated as an English teacher. Today, already retired from Middle School, I am still active as a teacher of English at IUTLL, where I am also a member of the chess team for the JUDECURE National Games. In those events I was runner-up in Falcon 2006 and Mérida 2009 Games.
.Thesis Advisor at IUTLL (2007-2015)
.Thesis Jury Member at IUTLL (2008-2018)
.Creator and permanent administrator of the Facebook group “Eres Vallepascuense Nato”, created in November 2008, today with more than 13,000 members across the national geography and many other countries. In this group we are telling day by day the local history of Valle De La Pascua through anecdotes and commentaries of old photos of people, locations and institutions of past decades.
.Freelance translator for a small community of Latin-American people who live in New York City. Most of the papers translated were legal documents addressed to some courts in New York City.
