Worked for 10 years at start-up companies as the production manager.
Responsible for doing all the prototype assembly on our products.
This included soldering of PCB board prototypes using the schematics as an assembly map. Building the wiring harnesses from blueprints and doing the mechanical assembly of the entire product.
Developed the BOM using the schematics and blueprints so I could create the materials list needed to produce the products and procure the parts. I also wrote the SOPs for each stage of assembly and for the warehousing of parts and assemblies.
Worked closely with the engineers to verify that the parts worked for form, fit and function in all assemblies.
Hired a crew for wire harness assembly, mechanical assembly, QA department, to repair products as needed and trained them all in their functions.
We used Weller soldering stations for soldering, pneumatic screw guns and small hand tools for assembly and electronic signal generators, wave form guides and multi-meters for test and repair.
