Hello, and thank you for taking the time to consider my employment. The purpose of this letter is to give you a little more background than what can be seen in my resume.

My most recent experience has been working as a Systems Engineer with a SaaS software company that provides MDM capabilities to corporations such as yours. While there, I was responsible for maintaining servers, troubleshooting, and installing them. I would do this remotely or on-site as required. We needed to maintain a level of up time, as well as service. I regularly gave presentations to a diverse group of technical people as well as decision makers, VP’s, etc. Beyond this, I was also tasked with troubleshooting issues that would arise not only with our services, but also with customers Firewalls, Routers, GPO’s, and others. This would require me to routinely research and resolve issues, document my findings, and report to the customer as well as my supervisors. I also mentored other employees, teaching them how to do things correctly as well as guiding them and expanding their knowledge base on not only our SaaS solutions, but also in areas of networking, filtering, SAN’s, VM’s, and other areas as needed.

My other previous experiences have taught me a lot about teamwork, putting time in after hours, including overnights in server rooms, performing upgrades, repairs, and the like. I've managed over 16,000 devices, including 120+ servers where over half were VM’s, mostly via VMWare utilizing HA and DR, but also utilizing Hyper-V. I’ve recreated many GPOs, helped convert NDS to AD, managed over 20,000 objects in AD, configured and maintained multiple SAN's, WAN’s, routers, firewalls, DNS, DHCP, SSL Certs, VOIP, AP’s, filters, VPN’s, load balancers, and VLANs. I’ve been tasked with making sure backups are working, to creating desktop images, to utilizing Powershell to determine what user has logged into what device(s), and ran Cat-6 and terminated it. I’ve upgraded hardware, deployed software, and maintained as close to 100% uptime as possible with the given resources provided me.

I feel I'm a well-rounded individual with a customer-centric focus, maintaining a professional attitude while remaining calm and focused under pressure, and ensuring the network and devices remain ready to use for the employees I service. I've been told many times that I'm very personable and able to explain computer terminology in an understandable way.
