Real Time News Scraping and Recommendation System June. 2018- Aug. 2018

● Built a single-page web application for users to browse news (React, Node.js, RPC, SOA, JWT)

● Implemented a data pipeline which monitors, scrapes and dedupes latest news.(MongoDB, Redis, RabbitMQ, TF-IDF)

● Implemented a click event log processor which collects users’ click logs, then updates a news preference model for each user. Designed and built an offline training pipeline for news topic modeling (NLP, TensorFlow, DNN, NLP)

● Created a Browser-based JSON Generator with Interactive Visual Editor

● Applied Gulp + NPM to manage modules, D3 to draw interactive canvas, UIKit to structure page layout, Handlebars to inject HTML partials

● Created the auto-generation system of the JSON file for the client which required no code writing. Supported visualization and modification of Node Type and Relation/Security and Fabric Settings, supported validation of JSON before configuration.

Cornell Library Data Analytics BI/DW Project Sep. 2017-Dec. 2017

● Analyzed data, built tables and provided suggestions for the Cornell University Library as a part of the Business Intelligence class

● Assessed all data related to e-Journals’ information and subscription packages from different publishers for the Cornell University Library; applied SQL for the initial data processing, Wherescape for Data Modeling and ETL, Tableau for data visualization
