First Army, Division West, Fort Hood, TX

Provide direct supervision, subject matter expertise, and operational management of pre-deployment Mission Rehearsal

Exercises for medical units (Military Operations Support Hospitals, Forward Surgical Teams, Combat Operational Stress Companies, Area Support Medical Hospitals, Blood Teams, Head and Neck Teams, and Veterinary Teams). Supervise the synchronization of training, operational readiness, unit’s transition and sustainment. Design training support strategies to support the Army Force Generation Model.

Served as Observer Couch and Trainer for the Clinical Operations Section of the First Medical Brigade in preparation for their deployment to Kuwait, Afghanistan and Qatar. Served as Subject Matter Expert and Observer Couch and Trainer of the Clinical Operations Section for the 75th Military Operations Support Hospital Validation Mission Rehearsal Exercise in preparation for deployment to Kuwait.

Synchronized mission readiness exercise with other similar units to eliminate training redundancies and maximize man power and equipment while saving money to the government.

Supervised the writing of clinical scenarios to be used during unit validation.

Identify competency-training requirements, then train and mentor nurses to increase skills.

Successfully integrated High Fidelity Simulation during validating Mission Rehearsal Exercise to enhance the combat readiness experience.

Oversaw the Army Licensed Vocational Nurse Program Texas Board of Nursing school and curriculum accreditation. Earned high praises and program was accredited for three more years.

Professional Experience

Affiliated the Army Licensed Vocational Nurse Program to the Veteran Administration Health Care System resulted in increased clinical capacity and enhanced the alumni learning experience.

Consistently exceeded the National Counsel Licensure Examination pass rate during tenure.

Designed a twenty hours lesson plan to prepared alumni for National Counsel Licensure Examination.

Nursing Supervisor / Bed Manager Program (August 2010 – May 2013)

Evans Army Hospital, Colorado Springs, CO

Functioned as Nursing Supervisor and Bed Manager for a 78-bed Army hospital serving a population of up to 165,000

Soldiers and families. Provided leadership, mentorship and guidance for over 54 Army Nurse Corps Officers, ancillary staff and civilian nursing personnel. Assisted staff to efficiently utilize staffing resources to meet safe patient care requirements and other professional responsibilities. Enforced professional nursing standards. Provided for immediate follow-up, documentation and communication of incidents to appropriate Manager and/or Director. Briefed hospital Commander daily on pertinent issues related to patient care and utilization management that impacted the organization performance.
