Mobile Comfort – Social Media Director

●I manage all Mobile Comfort’s social media accounts, this includes their Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, and LinkedIn. I also keep track of their website, with access to change and edit its content.

●I draft about one post each week, and work to get the company’s message across. They send me new content and I use that to create an online presence of the company’s progress in their testing phase.

●I set up interviews with people that work for the company to get a feel of what they do and use those interviews to craft new ideas, as well as write blog posts.

●I write blog posts about events, conventions, and interviews that I Mobile Comfort has done and then I post them on the website.

April 2018 – PRESENT

The Diamondback – Copy Editor

●Work two, four hour shifts each week. Expected to edit each story that comes in in a thorough manner

●Go through each article and check every fact to make sure it is 100% accurate, every name is correctly spelled, all quotes are accurate, and everything is correct according to AP style.

●Call the reporter to make sure all quotes are correct if they were at an event that cannot be checked online.

JANUARY 2018 – APRIL 2018

College Magazine - Writer

●Write an article a week on a deadline.

●Make weekly calls to my editor and discuss topics for article, possible headlines, and leads.

●Have two rounds of edits done on said article for best possible outcome, constantly keeping in touch with my editor to make sure I am doing everything correctly.

●Interview peers/students, professors, and professionals about whatever my topic of that week may be.

AUGUST 2017-JANUARY 2018

Stories Beneath the Shell-Staff Writer

●Pitch two stories each week of events/news happening on and around campus that week

●Cover the story my editor has assigned for me that week, go to event, interview attendees, get background information. Then, write the article and have it done 24 hours after the event.

AUGUST 2016- May 2017

American Studies Department, University of Maryland-Office Assistant/ Receptionist

●Answer business calls and emails, keeping the office organized, scanning any documents the faculty need, update bulletin boards, organize weekly lunch meetings for staff, and write weekly news letters that go out to the department.

●I copy all files that need to be copied in the office, sort mail to the individual person(s), scan documents into the computer for my colleagues, and answer business emails regarding the office.
