Performing as Manufacturing Manager at Trafficware Group, a company located in Sugar Land that leads the traffic industry building management infrastructure for the next generation of smart cities providing software tools needed to simulate and optimize traffic before deployment, hardware to control traffic on the street and the central management system to collect data and manage agency-wide operations, researching, designing, and developing electronic equipment and enterprise software designed to enhance the transportation industry.

My responsibilities are the coordination of the manufacturing activities for the daily accomplishment of the traffic cabinet schedule searching customer success, quality and on time delivery, operational company cost reductions, productivity and processes improvements to fulfill the company objectives.

Houston Transformer Co. LTD. Dec. 2011 – July 2014

Production Mgr.

Performed since Dec 2011 as Production Mgr. at Houston Transformer Co. a leading manufacturer of custom designed transformers, inductors, chokes and related magnetic devices since 1969 used in critical applications and extreme environments, from oil well exploration tools to medical instruments, from aerospace to high reliability military applications.

Achievements.

Improved OTD from 45% in 2012 to 59% in 2013 and 69% YTD in 2014 by implementing One Piece Flow in the Winding and Assembly Lines reducing waiting time improving cycle time.

Implemented weekly Quality meetings to address quality nonconformance’s performing root cause analysis and issuing corrective actions.

Implemented 5S / Safety monthly audits in every operations area.

Reduced OT in 50% from 2012 to in 2013.

Improved Lay Out of Layer Heavy Winding / Assembly into a manufacturing cell

Improved Machine Shop Lay Out to reduce cycle time.

A Regal Beloit Plant that manufactures electrical motors with 120 hourly employees in which my responsibilities were to coordinate the production schedule of a volume of 550 motors per day in a two shifts operation in order to meet the on time delivery with customers, quality, safety and employee efficiency.

Achievements.

Improved customer order completion from 66% to 91%.

Reduced customer complaints in 25%

Configured Final Assembly Production Lines based in product similarities and order size to reduce complexity and improve productivity

Implemented Self Inspection for operators in production lines

Implemented Supplier Quality audits in their facilities help assure components Quality requirements

and specifications.

Implemented Supplier meetings in the plant to review status of CA issued for Quality and delivery problems.

Reduced motors inventory waiting for parts and rework from + 2500 to less than 100.

Reduced stators inventory waiting for usage from + 6000 to less than 1,200.

Emerson Electric Oct 1994 – Jul 2009

Quality Assurance Mgr. / Production Mgr.

An Emerson facility in which were manufactured electrical motors with a peak volume of production of 15,000 motors per day and over 2,400 motor models ranged from 1/7HP to 7HP that were produced in 17 winding lines, 15 assembly lines and a sub-assemblies area with a work force of +900 hourly and +80 salary employees in three shifts in which performed as acting Plant Manager for over 7 years.

Quality Assurance Mgr. ( 07 – ’09)

My responsibilities were to coordinate and monitor all activities of the Quality System in order to ensure and maintain all the procedures in place and that were followed and accomplished in all the areas of the plant. Responsible for developing focused customer visits schedule to acknowledge their main issues, develop the expenses budget for equipment, gauges and fixtures for the Quality Lab and Receiving – Inspection department as well as for the final product inspectors.

Achievements.

Reduced customer complaints in 7.5 %

For two consecutive years had Zero nonconformance findings in our ISO external BSI audit.

Achieved for three consecutive months, zero PPM s with main focus costumer.

Improved customer order completion from 73% to 92%.

Coordinated monthly visits with focus customers in order to identify Quality opportunity areas.

Coordinated ISO activities to ensure compliance with procedures of the Quality System.

My responsibilities were to manage the production activities of all three shifts to accomplish the production motor schedule in order to meet the on time delivery of Customers Orders, Quality, employees safety and efficiency working with all support departments to address the daily floor issues

to ensure Production and Company Goals and developing the plan according to the yearly budget based on the motor schedule forecast.

Performed as Acting Plant Manager when formal Plant Manager was out of the plant for company activities

As certified Lean Champion and in Structured Solving Problems by an Emerson Program, working together with all departments coordinated efforts on Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma within all respective areas through Six Sigma projects, Value Stream Mapping, Kaizen Events and 5S tools in all operational areas

Changed Lay Out in production lines working with One Piece Flow system.

Developed and implemented cross training program for winding and final assembly lines to flex among them based on customers demand.
