I previously worked 20 years for Taiyo America, Inc. (Carson City, NV), the American manufacturing subsidiary of Taiyo Ink Manufacturing Co. Ltd., based in Japan. Taiyo Ink is a manufacturer of specialty inks / specialty chemicals for the printed circuit board, semiconductor, and display industries. I worked as Technical Manager / Operations Manager and then the last 11 years as President of Taiyo America. As President / CEO, I coordinated the start-up of our new manufacturing facility in NV which required us to transfer production from our Japanese facility. I successfully grew the company from 5 employees to 50 employees in a 2 year period. I was responsible for assessing and qualifying raw material suppliers, coordinating the manufacturing specifications and equipment transfer from our parent company in Japan as well as attaining customer approvals for the US-made products.

As President, I also served on the Executive Board of Taiyo Ink Mfg. Co. (Tokyo, Japan) responsible for developing and executing global strategies. I also was involved in all aspects of the company’s operations – human resources, technical, sales, marketing, financial, and manufacturing as well as developing 3-year and 5-year sales plans and technology roadmaps. Our products required extensive approval and acceptance throughout the entire electronics supply chain both domestically and globally.

I have led our facility through the ISO-9001 and ISO-14001 certifications as well as establishing our manufacturing facility as the first Foreign Trade Zone for manufacturing in Nevada. I was the face of our global company in the local community serving on several boards and lobbying for key trade / manufacturing issues in Nevada as well as Washington D.C.
