I have worked as a Registered Nurse since 2004 where I completed my training in the U.K. During my career I have had the opportunity to work in a variety of clinical settings and Countries. I am dedicated to my profession and have a multidisciplinary approach to healthcare. I work well autonomously and under pressure. Awali Hospital is a 30 bedded hospital attached to a refinery. As well as industrial nursing it also serves private patients. It consists of an Urgent Care department, Ambulances, Outpatient’s department, 2 wards including general medicine, general surgical and obstetrics.

Urgent Care

Consisted of Walk in patients as well as Ambulance admissions either from home, industrial accidents from refinery or Oil fields or Road traffic accidents. Main responsibilities include;

Community Heart Failure Specialist Nurse

Daily duty consisted of; liaising between the patient’s and GP's after clinical examination of the patient, where I would recommend to the GP’s titration, amendment or adding additional medication. I was responsible for the venipuncture and checking the of the blood results in order to communicate with the GP's regarding up titration of the patient’s medication. This role required a multidisciplinary team approach to health care as admissions were sometimes required. This role was very autonomous and required clinical judgment under pressure and quick acknowledgement of the deteriorating patient.

The Coronary care unit was an 8 bedded unit and my duties included;

Monitoring of STEMI / NSTEMI patients, heart failure patients and Dilated cardiomyopathy

Recognition of abnormalities on ECG's such as infarction, ischemia and arrhythmias.

Being able to manage temporary pacing boxes.

Transferring critically ill patients to a tertiary center for rescue angioplasty and permanent pace makers
