Lead – Human Resources Project Management Office

Work across the human resource function, along with the business teams, to ensure effective planning and execution of all HR initiatives.

Member of the HR leadership team focused on assessing all projects across the HR function and determining viability and capability along with timing and project planning through to execution. Able to lift up and look across all of the HR Centers of Excellence to view projects against competing priorities.

Partner with HR and business leaders on strategic projects to create an effective and integrated strategy for advancing the business. Through partnership, gain deep knowledge of the business, people and organizational needs and diagnose issues and recommend solutions to complex challenges.

Partner – Retirement & Investment Consulting

Led the investment consulting integration with an emphasis on retaining key talent through organizational design and restructuring.

As a member of the five person senior management team post integration - worked to successfully integrate and retain all employees of the Investment Consulting practice across three businesses (EnnisKnupp, Hewitt and Aon). Over the course of the first 24 months integration, turnover across the business unit was less than 10%.

Trusted advisor/Consultant for the fiduciary services practice supporting HR best practice knowledge of compensation, HR operations, retirement solutions, communication strategies, board and chair evaluations and compensation, and strategic planning. Conducted training and education on the role of the fiduciary for large public sector and corporate clients.

Managed sales and marketing team to support the large growth objectives which included all RFPs, bi-annual Client Conference, press and media inquiries, marketing materials, standard pitch books and visuals and any items for new or renewal business. Transitioned team to national functions after 24 months with no turnover or break in production.

Continued as a member of the TARP engagement through completion.

Vice President – Business Consultant and Recruiting Leader

Directed national recruiting and supported two business lines, due to a realignment of the national HR function. Recruited key talent, implemented new programs to support business growth, reviewed potential acquisition deals and ensured national HR programs and practices were implemented.

Restructured the recruiting team of over 25 to 15 to support specific lines of business which resulted in cost savings of approximately $4 million.

Senior HR leader for two growth insurance businesses, small and mid platforms, to ensure business goals and objectives were being met from a people perspective.

KPMG, LLP 1996 - 2005

Executive Director, Human Resources –Tax, Chicago, IL (2003 – 2005)

Managed a $7 million budget and a staff of 20, overseeing all Human Resources related aspects of the Tax Practice including people, policy and practice development, compensation and employee/partner issue resolution. Collaborated with Tax Practice and Firm leadership in the development and implementation of strategies to attract and retain a highly motivated, educated and skilled staff and management team.

Executive Director, Human Resources and Recruiting, Chicago, IL (2002 – 2003)

Managed a budget of $20 million and a staff of 105 located in 125 offices throughout the U.S. Directed the HR Generalist staff as well as the recruiting function with an overall objective of improving the consistency of policies, procedures and practices throughout the organization.
