My primary responsibility as the Sr. HR Generalist is to successfully complete the company’s payroll; assist in the interpretation of company policies and government regulations affecting payroll procedures (i.e. IRS legislature).

Coordinate payroll activities (i.e. process time records, compile payroll statistics and maintain payroll control records).

Prepare master forms, compute wages and deductions to post to payroll, set-up direct deposit (pre-notes) for employees with their banking institutions, record changes affecting net wages such as W4 information, insurance deductions, and payments for each employee.

Establish Multi-State accounts as necessary for remote employees.

Compile payroll data such as timesheets; apply levies, garnishments, taxes and insurance premiums to be withheld.

Process and keep records of leave pay and nontaxable wages, prepares periodic reports of earnings, taxes and deductions, review and approves payroll deductions, review payroll to ensure accuracy; adjusts errors and addresses complaints.

Distribute paychecks.

In addition to my primary role, I served as Benefits Specialist/Liaison, assisting in the administration of various employee benefit plans such as life, health, dental, disability insurances, vacation, sick leave, leave of absence, and unemployment by performing the following duties.

Recommend benefit plan changes to management; assists in preparing materials and in presenting benefit programs, procedures, changes, and government-mandated disclosures to active and former employees as required. Conduct Open Enrollment Meetings.

Enroll new employees in benefit plans; provide vendors appropriate documentation for employee benefits and benefits claims via EDI (Electronic Data Interchange) Processes.

Keep records of benefits plans participation (referenced above).

Respond to inquiries regarding policies, procedures, and programs; provides services to employees to answer their benefit questions, process enrollment forms and changes and resolve problems related to payment of benefits.

Used designated HRIS to manage the organization's needs as it related to Hr Data & Payroll; Assisted in the annual benefit implementations, modified system requirements annually to accommodate payroll taxation. Maintain external database files and tables, and develop custom reports to meet the requirements of company management and staff. Onboard new hires into the HRIS and company benefit programs as well as maintain accurate records of existing employees. Ensure payroll is accurately processed and issues are resolved quickly and efficiently. Process employee garnishment calculations and ensure state compliance. Administer employee benefit plans to include: medical/dental/vision, short-term disability, long-term disability, 401(k), workers compensation and leaves of absences.

I provide assistance in the recruiting process.

Perform interviews on an occasional basis, process employment applications and assist in other employment activities (run required background checks and obtain the required data needed for that position; generate offer letters.

Orientate new hires to foster positive attitude toward company goals; ensure all new hire paperwork is completed.

Prepare employee separation notices and related documentation and conduct exit interviews to determine reasons behind separations.

Identify legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting human resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.

Co-consult with management and human resources staff to ensure that policies, programs, and procedures comply with equal employment opportunity legal provisions and support the organization's affirmative action initiatives.

Advise management in appropriate resolution of employee relation issues.

I administered COBRA, FMLA, Unemployment Insurance, Workers Compensation and OSHA Compliance.

Serve as liaison to government agencies; prepare and submit HR related government-mandated reports.

Maintain knowledge of legal requirements and government reporting regulations affecting Human Resources functions and ensures policies, procedures, and reporting are in compliance.

Compile and maintain the monthly Injury Reports and OSHA logs as required; I investigated injuries and generated the Injury Reports for submission to the Insurance Company for Workers Compensation Claims. Finally, ensure required Federal and State postings are posted and kept up-to-date.

Work closely with the Safety Director to detect existing or potential accident and health hazards, determines corrective or preventative measures where indicated and follows up to ensure measures have been implemented.

Prepare, investigate and file injuries (for multiple establishments) and prepares reports for insurance carrier.

Consult with managers and health care professionals including working with the insurance carrier to reduce employee loss time, evaluate the need for, develop, and implement accommodations, return-to-work, light-duty, and other responses for disabled employees; Consult with facilities management and other staff to create and maintain physical work environment that provides reasonable accommodations for disabled applicants and/or employees with restrictions.

Maintains safety files and records.

Handle confidential and sensitive Human Resource issues.

I also performed clerical duties such as: Conduct Insurance Audits, Manage TWC Claims, Invoice reconciliation, collect, analyze and maintain data such as applicant flow logs, create and update job descriptions, update departmental content on company intranet site using SharePoint, administer company policies and procedures, facilitate and administer drug testing, create and revise the Company Handbook, maintain active and inactive personnel files (personal data, compensation, training, transfers, investigations, accommodation requests and complaints for required government reporting and internal monitoring purposes, benefits, tax data, attendance, performance reviews or evaluations, and termination details) ensuring records are filed correctly and timely, monthly reporting of worksite reports for state employment agencies, ordered supplies for office personnel. I respond to notifications from state agency regarding unemployment claims and hearings filed by former employees.

Oversee day to day functions of colleague.

The computer skills I possess, allows me to provide a degree of Information Technology assistance to office personnel.
