From 1991 to 2016 I have worked in various capacities in television news production. I started out working camera during newscasts and graduated to running chyron, tapes, technical directing and directing.

I would review newscasts to assure that graphics and stories were coordinated. I would edit video for the newscasts matching video with the scripts whenever possible. I could direct the show with attention to detail which allowed me to catch potential mistakes before they hit the air. In other places I would prepare pre-show material to ensure proper airing of product and that everything was available to call up on the air. At KREX-TV in Grand Junction I was promoted to Control Room Supervisor in charge of a ten person staff. I am skilled in all areas of putting together a technical newscast and then directing it. I am skilled in all master control procedures and know the importance of getting commercials and shows to air on time. The technical skills I possess include using DD35 Philips production switcher, Ross Synergy switcher, Ross Vision Production switcher, Ross Overdrive system. I have recently been trained in the use of Photoshop, Illustrator and InDesign. I can edit on the Harris Velocity digital editing system, I can use the Chyron Max and Chyron Lyric systems. I can type 65 wpm. I am skilled in both windows and mac operationg systems. I am also proficient in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook. I have a great deal of experience and have fit myself into multiple jobs around all the tv stations at which I’ve worked.
