acutely aware of employee training needs on all levels as well as achieve the recognition
as a skilled educator by her peers both within the Edward Rose Companies and industry related associations. Starting with the Edward Rose Companies as a Leasing Consultant, she has held, over a 28-year period, on-site management positions as well as the corporate
level Director of Marketing and Training Coordinator. Her position as Fair Housing Specialist enables her to focus on compliant training that supports both on-site
and corporate office personnel. Since early in her career, Brenda has sought out continuing education programs and conferences in order to remain current on service, sales/marketing, FHA issues and updates, and in turn making necessary revisions to her training modulars.
1989 Establishment of Leasing/Sales Training Program for Leasing Consultants incorporating nondiscriminatory behavior and practices.
1996 Fair Housing chapter added to the Edward Rose Companies Standard Operating
Procedures Manual.
1997 Historical record keeping procedures established tracking employee Fair Housing training sessions.
1998 Introduction of a separate Fair Housing Training Modular that all employees were required to complete, both on-site and corporate level.
Annual Fair Housing updates for all employees were initiated as advised by the
Indiana Fair Housing Task Force in order to be compliant with training guidelines.
Subcontract Agreements were revised to include a Fair Housing compliant acknowledgment.
Reorganization of on-site record keeping was initiated per the guidance of Thom Harris, former Chief of the HUD Fair Housing Investigative Branch for Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico and Louisiana, and President of Fair Housing Compliance Services of Dallas, Texas. This followed a voluntary onsite testing and audit of
resident files, conducted by Thom Harris, in order to access performance in the event of an actual audit.
2000 The Fair Housing Training Plan for Edward Rose of Indiana was expanded to include four components:
1. Orientation Video, Workbook and Quiz
2. Fair Housing Class for New Employees
3. Monthly Fair Housing Shoptalk Series
4.Annual Voluntary Audits and Retraining Sessions
