PRODUCTION CAPACITY: 170 TONS PER DAY(AVERAGE)

POSITION: JUNIOR ENGINEER (MECHANICAL DEPT.)

JOB DESCRIPTION: -Responsible for Mechanical maintenance And Lubrication Dept., Vibration analysis Of Machine Parts,Left Hand Type Paper Machinery components Status Checking, Daily Job Scheduling, Planning, Inspection & Checking of incoming procured machinery components, Planned Shut Down Job planning, scheduling, after implementation Status checking & monitoring And Supervise Them, Over Viewing Mechanical Cost estimation for Project Work, Daily Preventive Maintenance, predictive maintenance. Done why-why analysis of breakdowns to prevent occurrence of such breakdown in future.

List of major breakdowns attended, predicted and solved:

1.Paper Machine Mg Cylinder Drive End Side Bearing had damaged due to lubrication problem. The lub. Oil gear pump had suddenly stopped due to some problem and with lack of lub. Oil Drive End bearing ceased. Problem was solved by changing Mg Cylinder bearing unit (which is large and heavy bearing) and also the small oil pump had to be changed which took 3 hours which usually takes 12 hours and with the help of electrical department I also sustained interlock of the MG Cylinder drive with lub. Oil pump for future protection of these most vital Paper Machine component like MG cylinder.

2. Suction couch roll (which is another vital component of paper machine), Drive End side 3 way Gear box Input drive coupling had erratic sound, and also by checking with SKF vibration analyzer I found that there is excessive increase in angular misalignment. After discussion with the process head and maintenance head, I proposed to stop the machine & after stopping the machine the drive coupling alignment was properly sustained and checked & within an hour the machine was started to healthy condition. In case the action had not been taken a downtime of more than 12 hours would have suffered by damaging the gearbox and roll drive coupling.

3. Boiler ID fan Plummer block was severely vibrating and bearing of NDE side freely rotated on outer ring (outer ring of the double row Ball Bearing is in contact with the Plummer Block) because ID fan impeller balancing was out due to breakage of two

Numbers balancing strip. Immediately its bearings changed and spare impeller was changed in 2-3 hr which could be caused boiler stop for 12 hrs.

4. Paper machine Line shaft cone pulley sleeve damaged due to belt tension prob. Pulley unit changed immediately and Drive End side NDE side bearing change in 2.30hrs which could have stopped the machine for 5 hours.

5. In the Paper machine Dryer part Drive Roll Drive Gearbox had abnormal sound and temperature was rising above 70 c and reached 78 c. Oil level was normal, after checking with SKF analyzer I found that at the gearbox input shaft drive end bearing there was symptom of excessive angular misalignment and also the same was observed at the Gearbox drive motor bearing at the other side of pin bush coupling. I presumed the source of problem was the pin bush coupling which drives the gearbox. The machine was immediately stopped and it was found that the 4 numbers of rubber bushes of the Pin Bush Coupling had damaged and after replacement within hour the machine was started and there was no abnormal sound at the gearbox, hence the above action had saved a downtime hour of 4 to 5 hours.

6. Paper machine Fan Pump volute casing body was damaged due to looseness of impeller due to loose lock nut which was immediately attended by changing unit by spare ones in 1/2 hour that could have caused process unit stop for 5 hrs.

7. C.O.L system Leakage problem due to oil pipe damage was solved in 2 hrs which would have stopped the machine for 4 hrs.
