Responsible for all supplier ECON requests for Mopar. I have averaged over a 60% reduction from what was originally asked by the suppliers. One recently that started in October 2014. 4 different buyers ago, I was the only pivotal person who had retained every document. This started as a $1.2M annual hit to FCA. It was settled at just over $400k. I have taught each new, and sometimes seasoned buyer how to understand costs and the ECON requests. I was also responsible for every zero cost CN for MOPAR. This improved both response time and finding CN’s where cost savings should have happened.

Short Term for Launch. Responsible for all CD Open To Go, Purchasing issues, CPA Agreement Timing and PO Timing. Work as a liaison between Manufacturing and Purchasing to achieve program timing on all components required for builds. Purchasing Launch Team lead for FRAP Assy. Short-term Assignment to lead new sourcing of aftermarket chassis components. Entered and maintained contracts within the purchasing systems. Tracked and implemented all approved engineering changes. New program parts, no achieved annual savings as cost 0 is product launch. Worked with supply base to improve production designs with MOOG components. Acted as lead for the Lower Control Arm business.

Tenneco, Monroe, MI (4.3M) Aftermarket October 2010 - June 2011

Short-term assignment to resource a troubled supplier to a diversified global supply base. A total of 640 skews were resourced resulting in a 1.4M annual save. The supply base included 3 in India, 1 in China and 1 in North America. This project included many components that would have 3-4 different packaging concepts. Bulk, Single box. Blister pack, and color retail box.

Lead Contract Negotiation with supplier quotes, quoting new business, as well as managing cost targets for engineering changes. Directed the Tech Review meetings to assure the smooth coordination between engineering and the supply base. Entered and maintained contracts within the purchasing systems. Senior Engineer

Responsible for Saturn LS Seats and interior components that were launched utilizing the European Opal front seat hardware with all new foam, trim and plastics. Managed two product engineers as well as a summer intern.

Improved production assembly processes, resulting in reduction of three assembly stations.

Implemented wire harness revision, avoiding a significant warranty issue.

Recognized for reducing the overall interior warranty by 40%.

Successfully managed ten C / O vehicle seat systems (GM C-Cars, G-Cars, H-Cars, W-Cars). Coordinated and implemented component revisions in three Lear Seat Assembly plants.

Improved warranty concerns, effectively eliminating and resolving all warranty issues.

Coordinated supplier inventory as each car line was nearing job last.

Recognized as only supplier that was on time for a last minute special edition of the Buick Rivera the “Silver Arrow”. Implemented cross-functional teams to handle changes common to multiple assembly plants.

Responsible for all Mid-Size car program validation planning as well as validation test scheduling to assure that full customer expectations have been met.

Coordinated FMVSS testing requirements, assuring compliance. Developed validation matrices for interior programs as well as developing the accelerated testing process for a lift gate program, a first for Lear.

Part of the Team for the first successful Six Sigma project implementation at Lear. Process controls developed were used as an example presentation to the rest of the company.

BIW Specialist / Launch Coordinator for the 1998 LH

Responsible for the design and release of BIW hardware, PUR Foam, Black Out Paint and all vehicle labeling. The position transitioned into the Resident Launch Coordinator for the launch of the 1998 LH.

Singularly responsible for changing Vehicle Build's Group and the Assembly Plant Manager’s opinion of BIW Hardware support from the worst to one of the best.

Part of the Team that won the 1998 LH, a Motor Trend Car of the Year award.
