EDUCATION
Master of Science in Materials Science and Engineering- University of Texas at Arlington, Arlington, TX 2018
GPA- 3.60 / 4.00
Research- Investigating the corrosion behavior of Plasma Electrolytic Oxidation coatings on Aluminium alloy samples by Electrochemical Impedance Spectroscopy. Working with MATLAB for the analysis of my results.
Bachelor of Technology in Metallurgical Engineering- College of Engineering, Pune, India 2015
GPA- 7.11 / 10
Research- Studied the difficulties in the sintering of cold-pressed Barium Titanate samples at different temperatures followed by their characterization by X-Ray Diffraction, Scanning Electron Microscope and Energy Dispersive Spectroscopy.
PROFESSIONAL EXPERIENCE
TENOVA CORE INC, Pittsburgh, PA 2017
Powder Metal Technology Intern
Drafted a few sections of a bankable feasibility study for a company active in additive manufacturing- process flow diagram, mass and energy balance, environmental sustainability and laboratory equipment required for the analysis of final powder.
Interfaced with customers and engineers from different locations of Tenova (Pittsburgh, Italy, Canada) for the completion of the study along with managing conference calls and WebEx meetings, exhibiting skills of multitasking and ability to thrive in a culturally diverse environment.
HOGANAS INDIA PRIVATE LIMITED, Ahmednagar, India 2015 – 2016
Graduate Engineering Trainee
Designated for the on-site training in different departments- Quality Assurance, R&D, Melting & Atomizing, Annealing and Mixing of the manufacturing plant which conformed to IATF 16949:2016 standards.
Accomplished the detailed analysis of various grades of iron powder in the Quality Assurance department and executed some metallurgical processes like sintering and forging in the R&D department, improving the consistency of the process.
Collaborated with the Process engineer in the Melting and Atomizing plant along with inspection of incoming raw materials, managing daily production reports and spending maximal time on the shop-floor scrutinizing the manufacturing processes.
Assisted in the new product development in Mixing plant wherein powder alloys were produced by addition of lubricants and additives into iron powder mainly for compaction applications.
VISVESVARAYA NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Nagpur, India 2014
Summer Intern
Conducted heat treatments like quenching and tempering on 416 martensitic steel samples followed by their characterization by scanning electron microscope and energy dispersive spectroscopy to study their carbide concentrations at different tempering temperatures.
VISVESVARAYA NATIONAL INSTITUTE OF TECHNOLOGY, Nagpur, India 2013
Winter Intern
Performed polishing on EN24 automotive steel samples prior to carrying out heat treatments like annealing, quenching and tempering followed by their examination under optical microscope for ferrite concentration and grain growth.
