EXPERIENCE

Southern Graphic Systems, Elgin, Il. Customer Service Rep.

August 2017 - PRESENT

As a Customer Service Rep for SGS I worked on the WalMart account. In my position I was tasked to direct assets to our operators so that we can adapt the artwork out to various packaging dielines. Scheduling translations for Spanish copy, building estimates for suppliers, and completing the billing cycle for shipped jobs.

Keeping myself organized, on time, and ready to change priorities at the drop of a hat are a must within the packaging industry and juggling multiple jobs at a time is a must and knowing where each job is at any given moment is very important.

Along with my normal duties I have been part of the process to implement and test new job management programs to be used within our department and the review of previous years jobs for patterns in where we could capture some missing revenue opportunities.

Madden Communications, Wood Dale, Il. Project Coordinator

June 2015 - August 2017

As a Project Coordinator for the MillerCoors InHaus team I worked within the contract they had with Madden Communications working to help create National, Seasonal, Region specific, and one off advertising. My job within InHaus was to gather assets for our in house designers so they have the correct information and artwork to build the projects that come into our studio.

Time management, organizational skills, and prioritization are key to success within my company. Communication skills are also necessary to be able to explain to Account Executives issues that come from the Designers so that we can keep projects on time for clients as well.

I was promoted to the Transactional team to as their new Project Coordinator. This department works on a fee based relationship with companies such as Bacardi USA, Pabst Blue Ribbon, and Mike’s Hard Lemonade. This department added responsibilities to the skills I learned with InHaus such as managing costs for clients, keeping the Account Executives apprised of new costs and keeping timing on track to release final files for production. This allows me to work closely with the designers on copy layout, graphic design solutions, and managing client expectations. The benefits to this is we are able to keep clients and the parent companies happy and also use our skills and experience to reach out to new companies to do new work for them such as Jagermeister, Altria, and Remy Cointreau.

Blick Art Materials, Schaumburg, Il. Sales Manager

May 2006 - June 2015

I spent nearly ten years with an art supply retailer building management and customer service skills. Starting as a Sales Associate I had very few responsibilities outside of proper cash handling, customer interaction and keeping the store clean. As I went on to become a Lead Associate I was now responsible for making sure Sales Associates had their sections stocked and clean along with closing the store and balancing the safe.

After becoming Sales Manager I was in charge of preparing our store for having a physical inventory count done on the entire store in one night. Along with keeping the store shoppable I was tasked with increasing our relationships with Elementary, High Schools, and local Colleges to increase our art class “kit” sales.

Driving sales to our store was challenging but it allowed me to try things former Sales and General Managers we unwilling to try in the past. From directly contacting vendors to have their experts teach our staff how to better use, and then sell, their products to having local artists demo their techniques and new products we may have received in the store.

UPS, Palatine, Il. Sorter

May 2005 - October 2006

As a Sorter for UPS I was responsible for sorting out packages that come off the semi trailers and making sure they we placed onto the correct belt so they would then be be sent to the correct truck bays for delivery. We had between one and five seconds to look at a package's label and decide which of 20 belts a packages should be placed on and also place that package onto the correct belt. Working with your sort partner to make sure there were no pile ups and no dangerous conditions created by carelessness and not following safety standards made sure you left work without any new bruises or scrapes.

American Foundry Society Schaumburg, Il. Technical and Research Assistant

September 2005 - May 2006

For the American Foundry Society I held two positions. As the Research Assistant I was tasked with reading through submitted research papers to confirm if the specific research foundry had met their goals and then approve payments for further research. Along with this I was tasked with organizing the Research department’s files as they had not been filed in any sort of coherent fashion for almost 4 years.

For the Technical Department I was in charge of arranging committee meetings and disseminating technical data to approved foundries. I was also in charge of archiving over 100 years of foundry notes from the yearly Metalcasting Congress.
