Career Highlights

Senior Product Engineer (Ferromagnetic Surgical Technology)

DOMAIN SURGICAL (An Omni-Guide Company), Salt Lake City, UT 2017 to 2018

Created, planned for and implemented improvements to the product and the manufacturing assembly fixtures.

Improved vendor processes, tooling, and sub-assemblies for over-molding to reduce scrap and increase the production volume by more than four times.

Senior Product Engineer (Blood Diagnostics, Spine Pain Suppression, & Surgical Tools)

VENTION MEDICAL, Boulder, CO 2013 to 2017

Performed concept analysis and detailed DFMA analysis to determine best design concept. Used Boothroyd Dewhurst DFMA software to create custom applications. Heightened all phases of the product development process and pushed a large number of projects through to success.

Engineer 2 (LigaSure and Monopolar Surgical Devices)

COVIDIEN/VALLEYLAB/CORE STAFF, Boulder, CO 2004 to 2013

Using a mixture of new designs and DFM and DFA, lowered cost to build and assemble every part of a LigaSure device by more than 50%. Redesigned an electro-surgical pencil to be compatible with automated assembly’ reduced part count and produced >20 million units a year. Used Sigmetrix CETOL software to adjust parts tolerance and verified assembly using GD&T with mechanical variation control.
