Summary of Qualifications
My qualifications really begin with the fact that I am a married 61-year-old man. My wife (Mary) and I have been married for 29 years this August. We attend Life Church- Mustang and we love the outdoors, especially hiking in the Wichita Mountain Wildlife Refuge. For me, I returned to adult instruction teaching Batterer’s Intervention to Domestic Violence offenders in May of 2018. From October 2017 until the end of April 2018 I was a Probation Officer for Oklahoma Probation Services, a private probation service in Oklahoma City. Prior to this I was an adult education instructor for four years with Court Assistance Programs. The courses I taught were for clients who became involved in the legal system, and included instruction related to Substance (Abuse) Related Arrests (SRA), Assault Related Arrests (ARA), and a general course called Making Better Choices (MBC). I also instructed classes for clients with domestic violence related issues who were charged with or facing being charged with domestic related assault for which I have been certified by the State of Oklahoma. I am a retired Law Enforcement Officer and served with the Oklahoma County Sheriff’s Office for 22 years. When I retired I held an Advanced Officers Certification from the Oklahoma Council on Law Enforcement Education and Training (CLEET) as well as being a CLEET certified Law Enforcement Instructor. As time and funds permit, I am working towards a Master’s Degree in Counseling (I have completed 39 hours with 7 classes remaining). I currently have a Bachelor’s Degree in Behavioral Science and an Associate’s Degree in Police Science.
