United Parcel Service (UPS) is an American multinational package delivery company and a provider of supply chain management solutions. The global logistics company is headquartered in the U.S. city of Sandy Springs, Georgia, which is a part of the Greater Atlanta metropolitan area.
Project:
There were different teams, which were responsible for the development of Salesforce.com instances. There were two Instances of Salesforce.com used by UPS with “Applications Org” and “Enterprise Org” as friendly names. The “Applications Org” was the Saleforce.com instance developed & supported by our team and the other instance was used for different purposes. The main aim of the Salesforce.com instance “Application Org” was to provide seamless and quality product for the users to work on and have a good experience without experiencing any interruptions or issues.
Responsibilities:
Gathered the requirements and studied the instance to start building documentation, which was not provided by the previous team to better understand the Instance.
Worked on daily data integration from external database using PHP, Javascript to convert the XML files to CSV files and Upsert them to Salesforce. The data being Applications.
Worked on the project “Salesforce Single View” which is process for merging the two Instances of salesforce.com being used by different teams at UPS into a completely new instance with suggestions of external workforce from Salesforce.com.
Played a major role in the discovery stage of Salesforce.com Org Merge.
