Medical Laboratory Technician (June 2006 – Present)

Mercy Hospital and Trauma Center (1000 Mineral Point Ave, Janesville WI 53548)

Collect and Process laboratory specimens with accuracy.

Perform manual differentials on blood smears.

Centrifuge urines and check sediment for abnormal findings.

Run kit tests: hCG, Mono, fetal fibronectin, MRSA/SA, iFOB.

Process Influenza A/B, RSV, Strep A swabs using the Alere i.

Perform STD testing for HPV, CT, GC, Trich using a Panther.

Interpret Chemistry results using a Cobas 6000,Blood Gas analyzer, pH meter, Osmometer.

Operate coagulation analyzers (Sysmex 1500 and 560).

Work up antibodies, perform titers, cord blood, DAT, FMH (RhIG) workups, basic blood tests such as ABO/Rh and antibody screens.

Evaluate quality control on all analyzers daily.
